Void Raven

Has anyone seen the pic up of the void raven yet? It looks almost like my scratch built one I did a few years back. It's kinda cool that I got the idea of their concept even back then. Kinda humbling too.

I think maybe they saw yours and copied that!

There are two pics out there, a voidraven in blue and black and one in red and black. If I see correctly, they have DIFFERENT LANCES mounted on their hull! Options? Options!!!

The second option looked exactly as heavy disi.
But i feel that void lances would be far better (we got eenouth anti-infantry anyway)

I think Black Death, that is simply a testament to your conversion, that you made some that so obviously envisaged their original idea.

The similarities to yours are remarkable BD, that must be a nice feeling! You could add the serial number "001" on yours

I think the rules will be pretty good for the new one, they will want to sell as many as they can, after all.

Looking like the mine is a large blast now whereas it's weapons have new/different profiles.

They are called Dark Scythe and Void Lance.

Wonder what is Dark Scythe..

maybe its something like the necrons arc.

Probably the same as a D-scythe but we shall see. Void lance probably the same as before.

But the real question is that we all want answering is....WHICH IS BETTER lol

Personally which ever one drops the pain harder is the one i will be taking lol....or will just mag the guns on the damn thing so i can swap them out between games...its not like in a 15,000 pts army am lacking in anti tank or anti infantry firepower atm xD

You said that right, "atm". Just have to see if they fix, or break, what we have already. I would like them to leave the void raven as a heavy but make the razorwing a fast attack giving them the vector dancer rule, not the VR cause it's a bomber not a fighter.

Hey guys, have you seen the size of the new void raven from grot orderly?! It seems to have a taller flight stand, and a larger flying oval base. It's definitely bigger than a normal flyer. Do you guys think this thing could be like a mini super heavy? Or at the very least, AV12 with say 4 HP?

Merged the two very similar Voidraven threads together.

It is on the same base as the Razorwing, one of the WD pics floating around is an optical illusion of sorts where the Voidraven is sat on top of a building which is why the base looks bigger.

Looks really good, and the double sided front canopy looks just like i imagined it would.

As per the article, the dark-scythe works the same a d-scythe and I'm still tickled with the design. Also looks like we may be able to take squadrons.

I re-shaped the front and hope to paint it this weekend, again.

How'd ye do that Black Death?

When the dex came out a few years back, I didn't see a kit anywhere on the horizon so I took 2 razorwing kits and chopped them up. Using the description that GW had put in the dex I felt like being a bomber it would have 4 engines and a wider stance. I didn't have any idea for the bombadire so I used a couple of the extra reaver cowls top and bottom to create the front look after extending it using the other forward nose piece. I also wanted the tail to look bigger so I used the bottom section of the razorwing that slides on and one of the other wing sections to give it a heavier look. The lances I used the back section of the elder pulse laser and the dark lance combined to make it look dark. The void mine is pieces from the tail of the talos and blades from a reaver.

After finishing it and paint, I was not happy with the flat looking sections behind the cowls so earlier this year I sanded and started green stuff around the top to round it out, getting the more sleek look.


Now, since GW is finally making a kit, I want to get mine painted up again and haven't decided on a scheme. I like the way I had it painted a couple of years back but want something a bit more menacing. Here's what it used to look like:

The dark scythes will be amazing! Giving us reliable ap2 in flamer form is just beautiful!!!

Actually the heavy d-scythe is a blast so expect this one to be also.

As bad as I hate too, I may have to break off and buy one of the new ones, Just have to wait and see.

Well i thought id go in and buy the new voidraven with some B'day money, thinking yeah it should be close in cost to the razorwing so $90 should cover it.

Well at that price it looks like the razorwings will continue to "count as" for a very long time.

Ill just add a bomb looking thingy underneath instead of missles.
