Im still trying to fully learn the DE codex so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Haemonculus
venomblade
mindphase gauntlet

4 incubi on venom 2 splinter cannon

2 squads of 3 trueborn with 2 DL
venom 2 splinter canons

4 squads of wyches at 7,7,6,5 HWG
raiders with DL, flickerfields

10 kabalite
raider flickerfield, splinter racks

3 ravagers all DL

3 squads 3 reavers with heat lance

I expect to see 2 eldar, 1 csm, 1 tau, and several other marine types. Again any suggestions would be awesome.

Looks ok, if you are going to be seeing csm you will be facing a Helldrake at the very least and maybe some flyers from the eldar, most likely some talons from the marines.  You need something in there to help deal with that other than lucky sixes.

A raider is normally always better at getting the Incubi to where they need to go.  Extra hull point, give them aether sails and a shock prow for 5 points a piece.  Helps you to position assaults with tank shocks for better or more beneficial assaults or actually ram a vehicle if so inclined.

With all your additional AT you dont really need it on your reavers, use them as either blade vane harassment and objective contesting units or give them blasters so the can manage range and better.

I would keep your wych squads at 5, it gets you another back field scoring kabalite squad.

Mind phase gauntlet is pretty useless at I4, it needs to be going at I5+ as it is an immediate effect for the following I steps.  If there is nothing at I3 or lower the weapon is pretty useless.  Go for a straight up venom blade.

On to surviving first turn.  Skyshield mate, it is your best friend and help you weather a turn of shooting.  Against Tau it is a neccesity, Marine thunderfires you can hide underneath it to a degree and everything else it just gives you a save.  In most cases this will allow you to drop the flickerfields on some vehicles too.

Your incubi also have no grenades, massive issue there.  Have you looked into a  beast squad?  Single best assault unit in the codex.  228 points gets you 10 dogs, 4 beast masters and 4 flocks.  34 wounds, 72 attacks on the charge, 10 4++ saves.

Now your list will work but there is not a whole lot of synergy there, let me break it down for you on a choice by choice list.

1. HQ, unlocks cheap wracks, you are not using wracks.
2. Incubi. Assault unit, in a shooting vehicle, no grenades.  To get into assault you need to be taking a long range shooting platform into close range.
3. Trueborn, you need to lose the protection of the vehicle to make the most out of the lances, reduces your firing lanes and your max shooting potential.  They are still a good mix but taking out the venom means you lose a massive amount of fire power.
4. Wyches, you loose your shooting of the vehicles to get into range for your wyches to assault turn two.
5. Kabs are good in this loadout.
6. Ravagers are great no doubt, Razorwings are better at anything 1200 points+ where you need an all comers list.
7. Reavers.  No need for further AT, harrassment units or contesting units is their primary goals.

Something I would take at 1850:

Baron

3 x trueborn, 2 blasters, Raider
3 x trueborn, 2 blasters, Raider

5 x Kabs, Dual cannon Venom
5 x Kabs, Dual cannon Venom
5 x Kabs, Dual cannon Venom
5 x wyches, HWG, Raider with flickerfields, shock prow
5 x wyches, HWG, Raider with flickerfields, shock prow, aether sails
5 x wyches, HWG, Raider with flickerfields, shock prow, aether sails

4 x Beastmasters, 8 x Khymerae Pack, 4 x Razorwing Flock

Razorwing Fighter, Lances, Flickerfield

quick synopsis of the tournament.  mission 1 central objective 10 points to either hold or destroy with 5 more points for killing 1/2 the force.  mission 2 hold the largest number of area terrain pieces wins 10 points(there has only been one army with a larger number of units than me at this store), 5 nominated units worth one point each.  mission 3 most surviving units wins 10 pts. kill point for each dead unit. any unit not in area terrain at beginning of player turn on a 4+ takes a S4 AP5 Rending hit per model.  All missions are pitched battle deployment.

Only other choices are sucubus, archon, vect. still collecting.  I like to load the haemonculus with the incubi to give them the pain token. I chose the mindphase to try something different for the couple points

I used them in the venom because of the mission design.  first mission if attacker I can rush wyches then counter attack with incubi. if defender precission strike with incubi.  continue to use as counter attack for other missions

3. Trueborn, you need to lose the protection of the vehicle to make the most out of the lances, reduces your firing lanes and your max shooting potential.  They are still a good mix but taking out the venom means you lose a massive amount of fire power.
Because of pitched battle deployment going to put both squads of trueborn in terrain so between both can cover the entire board outside of the venoms at the beginning of the game.

For mission 2 & 3 my plan with the wyches is to use as counter attack of troops after using DL to pop transports.  Every game that I have played with this group I have gotten killed on not being able to take out transports to get troops out.  Especially one particular Eldar player.  I've played him three times and have yet to get his troops out of their transport.

5. Kabs are good in this loadout.

6. Ravagers are great no doubt, Razorwings are better at anything 1200 points+ where you need an all comers list.
Unfortunately all I have right now are ravagers.  My next purchase is either going to be a razorwing or beastmaster squad since I have none.

Again because of the meta i'm playing in for this go round I really wanted to just get as many lances as I can on the table to try and make some hay.


At this point I have no beastmasters, fortifications, razorwing.  Also in this list is every transport that I own lol.  I'm still relatively new (only played about 10 or 11 games with DE and 20 or so with dark vengence set lol)  please any more thoughts?

So firstly you can buy a cheaper beast pack using the following method:

1 x 5 hellions
1 x 10 Vampire Counts Dire Wolves These ones
2 x 1 Razorwing flock. I just split the birds up so 2 on a base, you could just buy one then use a product like instant mold to cast up some more.

Secondly those missions are crazy, units have to be in terrain and the penalty for not being in terrain is just retarded. But if thats what your playing you have to make the most of it. You will want to max out on your AT and hit hard with it. Scourges while expensive can still do a considerable amount of damage for their points. Running the Baron also allows you to take Hellions as troops which would suit this type of shenanigan mission write up.

But if you are allowed to and can field it then the skyshield is the best addition to a DE army. Can even show you how to get one into a carry case with a few magnets.

Let me think about the missions some more and come back with a list, but what you have is decent list mate it just needs some more units for the crappy mission pack you have!

Did pretty good yesterday. Went 2-1. Beat tau 18-0. Beat DA 15-3. Lost to tau 33-2. The last match was on a bare table against someone running 3 riptides and 2 broadsides and went second. Didnt keep enough units in reserve to overcome going second plus not so good on the dice rolls lol. Good learning experience. Took your advice barit bought 2 beast packs and a razorwing so next month should have a better run.
