| So, I just thought about it, and I would be interested to know this:
Is the Blast Pistol the strongest pistol in 40k?
I mean, S8 AP2 Lance on such a small thing... the range is bad but are there any other pistols that could match it in other areas?
Darklight is quite efficient since it can be stored in such small space. | |

It's also cheaper. But in general, they are all way too many points on already expensive models. | |

| My problem with Blast Pistols is the price.
I wouldn't put it on a Sybarite or a Wych unit made for assault because I doubt it would make back its points. I guess having it on a Hekatrix that 's in a HWG squad could be useful, but they're going to strip the vehicle of HP's anyway, making the pistol obsolete. | |

| implying an archon with 2 blast pistols and a shadowfield isnt one of the coolest ways to field one
not the most effective i will grant but he looks awesome

| I guess it allows the Wyches to pop the tank, charge the insides, but the short range is a concern

| I have found solid use for them in DS-centric builds on Sybs. I can't think of any other valid use for them. | |

| Not quite a pistol, but Necrons have a wrist dart that can be shot (once) for s10 ap1 Range:Infinity. Tachyon Arrow.
