First time using Eldar allies. What does everyone reckon to this? I've put the allied detachment first as it was easier that way. It is a 1650 point list, coming in at 1647. Everything is fast moving and puts out a great deal of firepower. My local meta is much more MC heavy than vehicles. It's also got loads of Troops in there.

Not much to say here except I try to never run a blaster and SC in the same squad as they have to hit the same target, that way never get tempted for the 1 glory anti-tank shot. If its much more MC than Vehicles maybe a ravager over the 2nd razorwing will save you some points for other upgrades, all your heavy support starting in reserve could cost you if someone has a few bits of mech as you have only the raiders lances to hit at range.. (I understand you have blasters too but then you lose the other guys 9 shots if aiming at mech)

Cant comment on the allies as I haven't run any yet (slowly building a small detachment)

I hear what you say about the Blasters, I like the ability to ID T4 guys and the flexibility of applying that wound first to deal with a Wolf Guard Terminator etc. at the front tanking shots. I would only fire them at vehicles If I absolutely had to, although I've got a fair amount of AI firepower in this list to counter that having too much of a detrimental effect. I haven't got any Ravagers, honestly I don't like them aesthetically very much, it's something about the guys hanging off those side basket things I think.
I really want to try the Crimson Hunter in conjunction with dual 'wings, I think his Exarch upgrade coupled with his weaponry and special rules really makes him a brilliant ant-flyer unit. One of the 'wings has Lances/Splintercannon just in case more dogfighting potential is required, but really I just want the opportunity to unload on ground targets with them while the 'hunter watches their back.

Farseer could be buffed if you drop a few upgrades. Otherwise I like it. You might also consider an Autarch instead with mantle for reserve shenanigans. Tough call though.

I really built it around the Farseer, plus, I have a 1/3 chance to get Scriers Gaze anyway. I was gonna give hum runes but I can't really see what upgrades I could drop. I'm committed to the night-shields as well, I think not being shot at is far better than a 5+ Invuln in almost every way. The Venoms will sit back at 36" anyway, so things like Tau SMS won't reach them. I'm using the splinter racks simply because when I do decide it's time to load up the Kabal and move in for a couple of volleys of splinters I want insurance on that.

Quick re-think. Have relented with the Blasters, especially as I'm now planning on putting 6 extra lances on the board in the form of a couple of borrowed Ravagers; I'll just have to live with the 'hanging baskets' thing, the firepower is awesome. So, with these changes I've got double the amount of Lances and SPlintercannons, on better, more mobile platforms. The Night Vision on the Crimson Hunter is subject to being switched for a singing spear on the Farseer; I don't know what he's modelled with yet. It still comes in at 1647 points, strangely. I've also got Nightshields on everything now, so I can play some nice dancing games! I'm still caught in two minds on that though. The issue is, can I actually use the night-shields effectively against the Ignores cover stuff I'm worried about? Would the Flickerfields be better? I'm determined to be all of one or the other. The other thing I've noticed is, I know a lot of people on here don't advocate any unit champions, but I think if I do go the Flickerfield route, I'd take an Acothyst in the 5 man Wracks squad and Sybarites in the Warriors over putting the Blasters back in. I think the Ld boost and being able to challenge to reduce casualties if a nasty guy gets my units in melee is worth much more than 2 S8 Ap2 shots.
