I've been playing fantasy for almost a year & need a change of pace. The dark eldar models are amazing, they remind me of that movie Silent Hill meets space pirates. Here is my 1500pt list, what do you think??

Archon - Agonizer, Shadowfield, Phantasm Grenade Launcher
7 Incubi
Raider - Nightshields, Flickerfield

Haemonculus - Venom Blade, Liquifier Gun, Orb of Despair
9 Wyches - Hekatrix w/ Agonizer, Shardnet, Haywire Grenades
Raider - Flickerfield

10 Wracks - Acothyst, 2 Liquifer Guns
Raider - Flickerfield

5 Kabalite Warriors - Blaster
Venom - Splinter Cannon

5 Kabalite Warriors - Blaster
Venom - Splinter Cannon

5 Kabalite Warriors - Blaster
Venom - Splinter Cannon

Ravager - Flickerfield, Nightshields

Ravager - Flickerfield, Nightshields

Just to be 100% clear - Venom have 1 default +1 bought SC, yes?

the whole list isn't THAT bad IMHO.

Main bad thing is Orb - pretty "nah" upgrade. I would go with Cruicible - not only it DOES it's job most times, it also have bigger potential effect zone AND can help with nasty psykers. Same cost, 100% better upgrade.

You may consider dropping FF on Ravagers - this 5+ inv is kinda... maybe not bad, but totally unnecessary if You deal your cards right. That may give you points to upgrade Acolyst's weapon.

Some players may think that 7 Incubi + lord is too much... IMHO not. If you think you may kill enemy too fast assault multiple units.

I think 7 Incubi are ok, as Local_Ork said, if in doubt, multi-charge.

I think the amount of raiders, venoms and ravagers is well rounded and purposefull, as is the mix of incubi, wyches, wracks and warriors.

But again, as Local_Ork said before, the orb of despair is just a bad option, if you want to keep a weapon that can not only harm psykers, take a shattershard.
6"+Blast equals roughly the range of a template weapon, plus it doesn't scatter. A Toughness test is much better then a Leadership based wound in my opinion, plus it removes from play, instead of just wounding. The OoD is subject to wound allocation, while the SS is not, so you can actually snipe special/heavy weapons and/or IC's/champions.
Additionally the shattershard saves you 5 points, don't ask who priced that thing.

Wait, isn't SS "just" shooting weapon that follow wound allocation rules?
According to fluff it should be able to "snipe", but rules say nothing about it...

The point with SS is that models hit, by it, are never wounded, instead:
"Any non-vehicle model hit by the Shattershard must take a Toughness test. If they fail this test they are removed from play with no saves of any kind allowed." (DE_C p.61)

So the models are hit, and hits are never allocated, either units are hit as a whole (normal shooting) or specific models are hit (template and blast), clearly second is the case here. So the specific models under the template are hit and every model hit must pass a Tougness test, if one fails, this special model must be removed, no other.

@ Local_Ork Haha yes I apologize for my poor list writing skills, I meant to say that they have 2 Splinter Cannons instead of the Splinter Rifles.

Thank you everybody for the feedback. I have replaced the Orb with the Shattershard & dropped the Flickerfields on the Ravagers. With the extra points I have purchased an Agonizer for the Acothyst. That brings my total to 1492. I'm not too sure what I can do with the leftover 8 points, but it doesn't really matter, I think I have a good list & am excited to start playing. I'll let everyone know how it goes!

If anything I would take the NS off the Ravs not the FF.

Use your remaining pts to get Aether sails on either your Incubi or Wych raider

+1 on that. NS have their strength against short range meltas and rapidfire guns. Ravagers should be out of their range anyway.
Longrange dedicated anti tank (missle launchers, lascannons, etc.) on the other hand almost always has a range of at least 48", so if you can shoot them, they can shoot back.
The 5++ FF save is of much more use against these.

If you want the Aether sails, depends on your normal game setup. If you encounter standard setup, very often you will be in CC 2nd round with or without Aether sails.

I'd suggest the stinger pistol for the Acothyst instead. It's 5 pts only to ad a good bonus to your shooting and, even better, one additional agonizer attack.

I thought the Acothyst can only take 1 from the list?

either the stinger pistol or the agoniser - not both, right?

Speed is your best ally. I would take wyches over kabalites because of their combat abillitys and their speed. If you are sitting around with dark eldar you will get shot to pieces. I would give the archon a husk blade if you can get the spare points and a soul trap. Dark eldar shooting(while powerful) is no match for their combat prowess. My current army is undefeated because I get turn 1 assaults with my wyches. Just a few tactics for a new player Smile

The Acothyst comes with 2 poisoned hand weapons, which means 3 attacks. The Agonizer only replaces one of those, so wouldn't he still count as having two hand weapons? Meaning 3 attacks that always wound on a 4+ and ignores armour saves?

No, sadly he wouldn't.
First the agonizer doesn't replace one of his weapons, so he could use his 2 poisoned weapons, if he wanted to, but as a poisoned weapon and an agonizer are both special close combat weapons, they can't be combined to get another attack.
The only way would be to add either a second agonizer or a normal CCW, the only one the Acothyst can take is the Stinger pistol, since all pistols count as normal CCW in melee, but as I was corrected before he can't take it together with the agonizer, poor bastard.

Oh thank you, I didn't know that poisoned weapons count as "special" and therefore cannot be combined. So basically paying for the Agonizer is 20pts just to lose 1 attack & ignore armor saves, doesn't sound like a good value!
So my Archon, who has a Splinter pistol & Agonizer, would get +1 attack? And the extra attack would still wound on a 4+ & ignore armor saves? Can you combine this with the Djin Blade for a total of 7 attacks?
What about a Haemonculus with a Splinter pistol, Agonizer, and Scissorhands?
Sorry for all the rules questions, I'm just trying to understand some things so I can write a good list!

To say it simple, you may never combine two special weapons to get both effects at the same time, but they may be combined with normal CCW's to get an extra attack. (does not apply for power fists, lightning claws and thunder hammers)

Basicly you are right, since wracks already bear poisoned weapons (+4), the agoniser is a suboptimal upgrade, but it's nonetheless one of the best weapon's choices we can take, but it could be cheaper.
