Best General in my local league!

Out of 16 players I ended up taking second place in my local league! After making it to the top 4 I was surprised but motivated. I played against last year's winner but he brought a Nids list. He's a great player but my list made short work of him.

My proudest moment was when I was playing to get into the final; I was up against a guard player who had only lost one game.

His list was a couple of blob squads packed with auto cannons, a command squad and an aegis. He then outflanked with a chimera platoon and had two vendettas plus a valkyrie in reserve.

I knew he would shoot me to death if I tried to fight it out so I decided on my strategy on my drive to the store. I was going to charge full out and play it bold.

He ended up starting most of his army in reserve. I rolled off to go first and decided to try to trick him with my deployment. He failed to seize the initiative but was expecting me to be cautious. Instead, I turbo boosted every venom forward. On his first turn he shot down one venom but that was it. I moved forward another 6 inches, deployed most of my squads on HIS side of the aegis and proceeded to unlease everything.

I killed his whole army down to 2 models but failed to table him preventing his reserves. The flyers came in, did some damage but nothing too serious. I was able to forget about them and focus on holding the line with 3 objectives stretched out behind it. I had left two small squads in my end to hold my two objectives. He outflanked to try to take one and was successful but my three ravagers opened all his tanks in short order.

At the end of turn 5 he surrendered. I had my haemonculus on the quad gun picking off his flyers, he had no tanks and about 10 guardsmen left in a blob. I controlled 4 out of 5 objectives as well as line breaker and slay the warlord. His only victory point was first blood for the venom.

We ran out of time to finish the league so I kept second place. A friend of mine took best overall with a space wolves list of missle spam and thunderwolves. I didnt expect to beat him, (he had already rolled over me once in the league so that's why he had the default win) but I'm thrilled with my second place finish.

The look on my opponents face when I flew at him right away was priceless. He was completely overwhelmed and it felt like a sincere Dark Eldar win!

I love it when people know how flimsy all our armour is yet underestimate just how fast we can be before we unleash the pain.

It was epic. It hit so hard and so fast. My buddy has been playing drop pod spam lately which has been tough but the fast venoms have trounced almost everything. I rolled over another guard player in the league but he was quite new with a weak list so I didn't count that as a feel good win but this guy was a good player and quite cocky prior to the game about how I didn't stand a chance against his auto cannons.

I'm going to add a tantalus and an archon with a court for a 2000 pt list. Turbo the tantalus for a 4+ cover save, drop the crew turn two, chop chop an dissy blast. Support with nine venoms and three ravs and im feeling goooood
