Can they run/turbo boost?

Or reroll dice with fleet?

Had a discussion last night at the gaming club but didn't get anu conclusion. Nor do I have my rule book with me atm.

Yes they can run/turbo boost as long as they maintain coherency but no to Fleet as the rule says "units composed entirely of models with this rule"

But Farseer has fleet. I can't find anywhere a point where he loses it when taking jetbike.

D'oh! Quite correct. For some reason I didn't think Farseers had Fleet.

True, but you can't "run" when on a jet bike. So there's no dice to re-roll.

The Farseer wouldn't need to reroll as he would be turbo boosting. The fact that he has Fleet however allows the rest of the unit to reroll the Run dice.

Even Eldrad has fleet now, the old man took running lessons.

Yeah so what we're saying right now is that the Farseer kinda loses fleet (in practice) because he's on a jetbike right? you won't be 'running', you' ll be ' turboboosting'.

So yeah, as count said, aslong as you keep coherency you'll be fine.

The fleet comes in to play when rerolling charge lenght.

How about same unit with Baron charging to difficult terrain. The beasts ignore it and roll two dice. Baron as a slowest (jump move already used) should roll 3 but if he's more than 12 away from it hanging in the back of the pack.

If, when charging, one or more models have to move through difficult terrain, the unit must make a Difficult Terrain test (see page 90). However, to represent the uneven pace of a charge, the unit rolls 3D6, rather than 2D6, and uses the two lowest results as its charge range.

So the beasts can ignore the difficult terrain, but as soon as the Baron has to cross it the whole unit is subject to this rule.

Subjected to this rule as in, they must stay in unit coherency right? Not downright effected, right?

The idea was that is it possible to position baron so that he doesn't have to go through difficult terrain while beasts charge into it.

As long as the Baron can't come into dangerous terrain all is well, but if he could the problems start.

The problem here is that you only know, how far the unit can move after the charge roll is made. So you'd have to check first, if the Baron could end up in difficult terrain, which seems rather complicated.
I think it is at least implied to use the rules from page 90, that say:
BRB p.90 wrote:
If a unit starts its move outside difficult terrain, the player must declare if he wants his unit to try to enter difficult terrain as part of their move. If he chooses not to, the unit moves as normal but may not enter difficult terrain. If he chooses for a unit to do so, the unit must take a Difficult Terrain test.
So it's either a head over heels charge into terrain or not. You can't decide to charge into terrain, but the baron will stay back and just float along. That's my point of view at least.

The issue is whether the non-beast model has the potential (12") to reach base contact with an enemy which would involve moving through difficult terrain. If the potential exists you must roll 3D6. It's exactly the same as charging a unit partially sticking out of area terrain, it's not just the initial charger that must be taken into consideration; all the models must attempt to reach the maximum number of enemies.

Thanks. That answers it enough. If there is no potential for Baron to reach difficult terrain then use one 2D6.

If you don't want to take a difficult terrain test with the beast pack then don't use his jump pack move in the movement phase. Save it for the assault phase.

Not using it in the move phase only gives him HoW in the assault phase...

Sounds like they ignore difficult terrain, to me.

Yep - it does - but I was referencing the movement aspect, not the terrain bit... since we are talking beasts and all...

was on my phone at the time and not very clear
