@exsquared: so whats the trick that you do to remember your drug? either to roll or that you actually had it? is it just a lot of playing the army alot and getting use to?

@sgb69: yeah thats fair enough. does your razorwing survive much of the games?

Having little drug cards in my army tray helps me to remember.

Rarely.

Its job is to utterly trash one key unit, then to be a massive fire magnet. If it gets that second shooting phase then it almost always has put me up on attrition. After shooting all its missiles, most players tend to disregard it in favor of the tides of bondage space elves in their face.

Say your Wyches are about to assault something. Having your flyer knock out the enemy unit next to the Wyches can prevent them from being shot to death. It's kinda like bringing mobile cover, only killy.

I have a check list as part of my army list
So, roll for mission type, page
Roll for board type, page
For for terrain, page

ect.

Against a mech army they are really valuable and 2 squads in venom is a good 250 points. You can get a squads of grotestques in raider for that cost. And unlike the wyches, they will get the job done.

I run 10 Wracks and 6-7 Incubi and they do the front assault job but i use 2 small units of 5 wyches ( no upgrades or 3 wracks and 5 wyches) which works , they can sit at 36" and fire there SC . They can assault and kill weakened units , hold Termies , they can attack mech . If they shoot the Venom with wyches then they havent shot my wracks , incubi , Trueborn or Ravengers so im pretty happy. If they dont shoot them 5 can normally do the job ...

I agree 3-4 units of 5 wyches will not work.

It does.

Three Units of wyches is 375.
If they draw fire, it means my 400pt archon / incubi venom (or archon grot raider) isnt being shot, and my Ravagers are fine too.

Gots are ok against light tanks, but 5 wyches will pop a raider with a bit of luck, you have to roll catastrophically to leave it more than one HP, whereas grotesques cant enough touch it, even if urienisation and furious charge.

I concur. And similarly I've only lost one game with them and even then only because the dice were atrocious on my end and insanely good for my opponent.

Does anyone use scourages? I love the models, don't usually care about effectiveness as I play with my son most regularly. Just wondering how people have been working with these.

Scourges are too expensive for what they do, but have the advantage of being able to Deep Strike some guns in on the cheap. 5 Scourges can take 2 weapon upgrades, and comes in cheaper than Reavers for that purpose. But, they lack the flexibility of Reavers. Even used stock they are more easily overshadowed by Hellions.

What Scourges do that makes them worth it is the Haywire Blaster. It isn't as powerful as it was in 5th, because you can't stunlock anymore. But, being able to knock off another hullpoint from the enemy at range, regardless of the armor value, can be very helpfull.

Its gone very well, much better than I had thought. What I didnt take into account was how much better wyches are when you saturate with them. I eat my words.

If anyone cares I used several list variations but mainly 4-6 units sometimes swapping a unit or two for HWG splinterborn which are the bees knees especially at low levels. I Play mostly at 1k -1.5k plus team games of 2k (1k per team member). To be honest I wasnt a fan of wyches when using just a couple units but now Im not sure ill ever look back.

Honestly, my list didn't change much from 5th to 6th.

Archon
9 Wyches in raider
10 wyches in raider
5 warriors w/blaster in venom x 4
6 jetbikes w/2 heat lances x 2
Ravagers w/ 3 dark lances x 3

Give or take some things. Upgrades as I see fit. There are certainly armies that are a struggle (IG comes to mind when built and played well), but I routinely table MEQ armies. I thrash 'nids when I see them.

Venom spam is still super legit.

No, you can take one blaster however many in the squad, it's the splinter cannon and dark lance that are one per ten.
