Hi! I'm getting back into the game after not playing since 3rd ed and though I played my first game of the new edition today, I'm still wrapping my brain around the basic rules.
Do I understand this correctly? If I move a raider 12", a unit embarked upon it may only snap shoot. But if I move the raider 12" and then disembark the unit, they can shoot normally?

Technically, yes.

But since it's not possible to just disembark after moving 12" in 6th edition anymore, there are only a handful of situations, were it would apply.

One would be deepstriking, during which a vehicle counts as having moved 12", but passengers may still disembark.
The other one would be, if the vehicle gets destroyed during your own turn by terrain, interceptor or scattered blasts.
I can't think of another way right now, but if there is one it's probably not worth it, either.

No, the unit can only disembark if the raider or any transport only moved 6". They can disembark 6" and shoot as normal for normal movement purposes.
