Great job with the drilling, not sure I wouldn't have some repairs to do myself.

Thanks for the tutorial, I will be doing the same when I eventually get a Razorwing.

I am no big fan of magnets on models, but this is really cool! And makes sense. First, i still don't know what rocket options are the best, second it is easy to track how many you have left and finally it just looks cool Smile

Very nice paint job. The whole vehicle looks really good, but your freehand markings and the jewels are particularly well done.

I just spotted the jet in the LHS but I decided to wait to get it. why? I like to take my time assembling and painting models. Smile

The speed at which you paint stuff like this is insane! Nice work, though!

Yeah I second the "insane speed to table" you exhibit.

Looks good.

It's fantastic to see someone actually painting their models for gaming rather then the hordes of unpainted models you normally see grace the tables.

Hats off to you.

I can't wait to paint the Jetfighter.

Nice one. Cant wait to get mine. Just been shipped. I'm at work so cant view the work you've done very well (minimized screen), but I like the sound of using magnets. I really should buy some packs.

How do you paint so fast? Got any tips?

I always find it a ball ache trying to find the time and location to spray models. That is what holds up a lot of my painting.

I have also magnetized mine, but I used copper tacks stuck to the top of the missile rather than imbedding magnets.

It doesn't look as sexy as yours of course, but it does the job adequately.

I'm not sure I paint fast I just put the time in, but here is my method.

Pick a scheme for the army 3-4 basic colours max - The Poisoned Thorn use Red, Green and Boltgun (grey). You can use different types of each colour but try to stick to minimal base colours.

As every model uses the same basic colours descisions about what colour to use are easy, Use the colour that covers most of the model first (for me red really dark red) then the other base colours, a quick touch up of anywhere you slipped up then wash (I use badab black for this army though devlan mud is also good but gives a grubbier finish) slap it on liberally and let it dry.

Higlights from dark to light (the wash helps you see where they should be if your unsure) - my red uses scab, gore and blood red in succession.

Details gems markings etc done.

Don't know if it makes a difference but I paint from a white undercoat I just find the colours are more vibrant that way.

Thanks. I've not had much chance to do any painting at the moment as have just moved house. The part that I find most difficult, is finding somewhere to spray/undercoat models.

In my old house I used my loft, but it leaves a smell and dust.

Outside is no good as too blowy.

Shed is no good as I dont want paint all over my motorbike.

How are you getting paint everywhere such that you'd be worried about your bike? I paint on my couch with a tray in my lap!

Yeah... same with airbrushing. Once upon a time I've blowed purple boogers. Yes, exactly same purple of my Purple Knights sprayed few moments earlier.

Now paint with mask and proper ventilation.

I'm quite lucky at work there is a large warehouse section attached to the building I work in which is perfect for spraying models (I do most of my painting at work). However at home I just take the models in the back yard in a box lid spray them (with the wind at my back) put them back in the box lid and leave them in the shed to dry.
