warlord traits, DE divide and conquer (yay) Chaos lord cause fear.
Chaos set up on the hill hopeing to use the center terrain(2 large rock rock formations BLOS and a wreckage) during first turn to help block LOS
DE obliged and set up opposite but more towards the BLOS terrain on the left flank just in case we needed to beat a quick retreat.
as predicted Chaos belted forward with the rhinos trying to BLOS right across the middle of the battlefield and popped smoke, the right flank mauler hid majority of its bulk behind the rock piller while the other lumbered through the wreckage. the raptors jumping forward and grabbing as much cover as possible.
alpha venom moved up to disgorge the wyches in front of the rhino, beta shuffled to get better sights on the other rhino, the maulerfiend was too far in cover. the two raiders swapped positions so the KW could target any troops that get dumped out of the rhino if it gets popped or the some raptors. the ravager sails over the ruins targetting the left flank mauler fiend. 1 glance hit on the rhino from the TB and Lance born spoil t the plan. a wych threw a HWG and missed, looked like it was going to be 1 of those days. the KW opened up on the raptors killing 2, both venoms shot at raptors killing another 2, and the ravager annihilated the mauler fiend in a deadly stroke of dark energy. happier endings.
the wych assault got 3 hits and then predictably a 1,3,6 the pen being ignored by extra armour
a forgetful lord forgot to call in the birds a roll any way failed to call them in. the rhino tank shocked, a failed LD saw the wychs run away screaming like..... the raptors walked forward and shot the girls killing 3 the other rhino moves forward and out come the CSM they fire on the KW raider thanks to the FF only 2 glances. the mauler fiend moves to within sniffing distance of its lunch, the CSM in the other rhino get out and take down the venom,(we know now that they should not have been able to disembark). the wyches run again from the raptors leaving them too far away, the mauler fiend screams at the TB in the Venom before being silenced by 3 sixes 1 pen and an explosion
silent kiss enters the fray and launches 2 missiles at the near CSM, 1 scatters and hits the rear of the left rhino and 3 raptors, wrecking the rhino and killing 2 raptors
the other hits along with the DL killing a few CSM. the beta venom kills 1, the raiders dissie wiffs, the KW fire leaving just 2, the TB blasters wipe the squad for a token, the archon and incubi disembark leaving the Heamo but taking PT close in on CSM, blood stone kills 3, their raiders dissie kills 2 raptors, Heamo wiffs (new model syndrome) ravager targets raptors and drops 2 more, incubi lose 1 to OW the klaivex kills the champ archon kills 3 the incubi wipe the unit. DL TB fail on rhino again.
1 Heldrake appears and vectar strikes the incubi killing the klaivex and 1 incubi, Archon tank 2 hits. baleflamer wipes DL TB squad, raptors pounce on incubi, archon is too far away to accept challenge from lord so he kills 1 incubi, archon moves in and wipes the floor. (forgot ST)
razorwing goes toe to toe with Heldrake and gets a pen that takes out the bale flamer, the Reavers come on and take out the rhino with the HL, the ravager moves for a rear attack on the bird and fails to hurt the daemon! both raiders manouver behind the drake to try and get it from behind, 6 dissie shots and a blaster all fail.
the other drake comes on and tears apart the ravager, bale flamers the archon and incubi, the SF holds but it glances the 1 hull point raider....the FF holds. the other drake vectar strikes silent kiss destroying the splinter rifle.
the archon moves for linebreaker, the raiders line up the drake and velocity lock it, the reavers and TB Blasters velocity lock the other (we got velocity wrong too)
drakes run for the hills we made the mistake of not being able to turn during velocity lock both drakes close to the table edge.
