Eldar Corsairs- Lions of Asuryan

Hey guys still plugging along! The first half of my JB squad is finished (the second is almost done being built). Having a ton of fun doing freehand squad markings on these guys inspired from new dex (my favorite fluff/modelling part of the new book by far).

Also working on my Death Jester. Still a WIP but coming along nicely. Super hard to photograph well and get both sides of the face so sorry for the crummy photo but you get the gist. Anyway enjoy guys!

Looking great. Like the addition of the chain and skull on the Death Jester's weapon.

I would like to ask how did you do the cockpit where it looks very green and yet its translucent?  Especially the hornets.

That void dreamer is unreal, perfect choice for the head. And just beautiful work overall. Your red gets me every time.

@Curst Alchemist- Thanks man! Gotta admit I'm not thrilled with how this guy is coming out. Gonna try again but the skull and chain is a keeper!

@ginngu - Thanks! Yeah the cockpit effect is real easy mix GW 'Ard Coat with some green ink (not wash, ink I use P3 ink) and just mix it till you get the translucence/opacity you like. Its real easy just dive in!

@thesaltedwound - Hey thanks man I appreciate it. Glad you like the Void Dreamer I do too. He's up there next to my Archon, Autarch in my display cabinet right now (thats a place of high prestige in there lol). Thanks about my reds too I take pride in them so I appreciate it!

So in addition to the tons of games I've been playing I've been working on a revamp of my army for fluffier less hardcore games. So to that end I'm working on a unit Corsair Dragons (still a WIP) who will be riding in a Falcon as soon as I finish the squad. My Corsair Scorpions are next so stay tuned!

I like these conversions a lot. The posing is great and they look really aggressive too. A full unit is going to look fab

So I've been going slow and steady on my Scorpions and Dragons and they are coming out nicely. Really enjoying working on these guys check em out!









BTW I'm probably gonna dive back into to true evil Dark Eldar models for a super-villain mash up army I'm working on. It'll happen a bit down the road buts its gonna happen. Stay tuned!

What did you make those Scorpions out of they look pretty awesome

They look like Wych and Kabalite legs, Guardian torsos, Dire Avenger shoulder targeting device, Storm guardian arms, and Corsair heads.

They are darn cool. Great conversions and paint jobs man.

Also for those interested I'm going to do Corsair Reapers and Spiders next…. I mentioned this awhile ago but once I get the Reapers and Spiders done I'm going to write an article on creating a counts-as Corsair army… unit choices, list building (bound and unbound) and a kit-bashing guide for those who want to make an army or just incorporate a squad or two into their Eldar or Dark Eldar army. I'll get into the old Corsair rules from 2nd ed. all the way up to the FW book… Anyway thanks so much guys I'm glad your enjoying the progress!

Hey gang! Quick update... my Corsair Scorpions and VoidStorm (harlies) are almost at full strength. Decided to fold some of close-combat Corsairs into the squad to beef up the number for playability purposes for the time being. Really happy with how everything is coming out. Here are some highlights!













Anyway gotta a couple more Corsair conversion kits and some more DE bits and these squads should be game ready. Anyway thanks for stopping by!

@everyone- So still trucking along and now I've got some paint on my Corsair Venom! I wasn't a huge fan of this model seeing it in the WD, also wasn't into it after assembly but now after putting paint on it I love it. I REALLY want to get a small horde of these things and run an unbound counts-as Corsair force heavily employing these. But to make that complete I have to get more units ready to play.





Also as an aside... I realized my younger brother, who almost never plays, and I painted 3/4 of his army for him.... has more points than I do... and by a big margin! I don't know how this happened but its something I realized as I continue to try and re-organize my army for different play-style I realized man I'm REALLY short on unit options. I've really doubled down on unit redundancy and need to start picking up some different units. Anyway I say that to say this: more conversions are coming. Stay tuned!

I love it! As usual your painting is exceptional, amd I like that you are utilizing the harlie vehicle as your corsair venom. Feels very appropriate and fits the fluff of your force nicely.
