I just noticed on the GW site that the Razorwing has Deep Strike as a special rule in it's profile (rediscovered it really after all the fuzz of the new 6th flyer rules). And I've got a small question.

Ii'm thinking about it now... IIRC after DS a unit counts as having moved. In case of the Razorwing has it moved it's minimum (or maximum) Zoom distance then?

I think it has. The exact distance is not an issue with other units because they don't get wrecked when they don't move a certain amount of inches.

Offtopic: Tactics;
Why do I find this important? DSing your Razorwing might give us an edge when positioning our Razorwing it's 1st appearance (as positioning and moving is now very important for flyers in 6th).

Well I have the answer for you.

Under Deep Strike pg. 36 Thirrd Paragraph in Arriving by Deep Strike. It states "...Vehicles, except walkers count as having moved at Cruising Speed..."

Under Flyers pg.80 First Paragraph in Zoom. It states "...if a Flyer zooms, it has a Combat Speed of 18" and a Cruising Speed of 36"..."

This means when the Flyer Deep Strikes in, it still counts as moving at Cruising Speed which translates to 36" Movement. Also Flyers ignore Dangerous Terrain tests when starting or stopping on any kind of terrain. Now you can land anywhere on the table except on other models or off-table.

Thnx for looking it up.

I'm at work, don't have the BRB on me right now.

Awesome stuff. I think I'm going to DS my Razorwing more often.

No problem. I live in Dilbert Land so no one sees what I do in my cubicle. Which any free time I have is spent reading up on this forum or reading my BRB and/or Dex.
