Now I'm working on a Duke DS list, and I don't think he would look right unless his twin venom blades actually had some poison coming from the blades "veins" we'll call them. Now I could easily create a swirling paint job of this over some green stuff or the like, but what I’m looking to do is to have it be mostly transparent with a greenish (or perhaps yellow) tint to it. I was wondering if any masters have tried this before? Does GW have anything that could create the effect?

Green dyed glue? (I'm supposing you are gonna paint the venom green).
Or with the Vallejo Water effect , or with some kind of resin.

I've NEVER done something like this by myself, I'm just throwing some ideas in the basket Razz
And I'm really a noob at painting, so these could be really bad tips ^^"

You could use Tamiya Clear in green or whatever color that you are looking for.

The master use the water effects that can be peeled off a surface. I thin Vallejo has something like this is a jar. I am not sure the GW stuff would work since it needs to be poured and dries kind of hard.

Another secret masters use is hot glue. Long strings can be made quickly and easily from a hot glue gun and then you cut to fit and paint over it with transparent paint or a glaze or thinned down wash.

Wow guys, these suggestions are all great! I'm thinking that as I'm going to my hobby shop this weekend to pickup some bitz to "Kustomiz a ded killy wagon!" a soon to be skullhammah that the woman got for me I'll see if they have what Local_Ork linked. Seems like the most cheating and lazy way to do it, and as they say in my occupation "If you arn't cheating, it isn't training!"

PVA or wood glue. fantastic stuff. you can add colours and shape it as it dries with a pin/matchstick/sculpting tool

The Tamiya Clear effect in the linked article looks great. I was thinking of putting industrial waste pipes or channels in the bases of some of my figures, and it looks like an ideal material for that effect.
