Hey guys, im new to DE and i just got my first squad of Kabalite warriors. I want to go with the Kabal of the Black heart scheme but i dont know how to paint them. The most troubling thing to me is the highlights. I cant get the light greenish color or the dark green basecoat and i dont really wanna mix any paints for them. For some reason, GW removed all painting guides from their website, So do you guys have any guides to painting the Black hearts? Thanks Smile

my initial thoughts on how to proceed would be to paint all the armor black.

then begin to highlight with dark angels green

edge highlight with snot green or emerald green, whichever of those colors still is sold

then highlight on the very corners with scorpion green.

OR

you could paint all the armor dark angels green,

heavily wash with badab black

then edge highlight with snot green or emerald green, whichever of those colors still is sold

then highlight on the very corners with scorpion green.

From a quick Google search: Kabal Green: 50/50 mix of Enchanted Blue and Dark Angels Green.
Webway Green: 60/20/20 mix of Rotting Flesh, Kabal Green and Scorpion Green.
This was the description of a Google result for "Webway Green". It is a dead link back to GW's site. I mixed something similar to this to get the teal that I use mixing Enchanted blue and Orkhide shade as a base. It seems as though the base or first color is missing, but this should get you a good start! For extreme highlights, I find that adding more Rotting Flesh to the mix works very well.
Cheers!

Because I'm a sneaky DE I printed the guides off the website. There is a warning though, that the studio colour scheme 'contains a series of fairly complicated mixes and will take longer to paint'.

I haven't got the time right now to list it, but will try and do so tonight for you

EDIT:
4 colours to mix up ahead of painting:
Kabal Green - 50/50 mix of Enchanted Blue & Dark Angels Green
Webway Green - 60/20/20 mix of rotting flesh, kabal green and scorpion green
Nightmare blue - 50/50 mix of chaos black and regal blue
Grotesque gold - 50/50 mix of tin bitz and dwarf bronze

Stage 1
Armour: basecoat with 50/50 mix of kabal green and chaos black
Brass: basecoat with 50/50 mix of grotesque gold and scorched brown
Flayed skin: basecoat with 50/50 mix of tallarn flesh and dark flesh
Bodysuit: basecoat with chaos black
Metal: basecoat with boltgun metal
Cloth: basecoat with liche purple
Rifle casing: basecoat with chaos black
Teeth/bone: basecoat with scorched brown

Stage 2
Armour: shade with watered down chaos black
Brass: layer with grotesque gold
Flayed skin: wash with ogryn flesh, then leviathan purple
Bodysuit: highlight with nightmare blue
Metal: wash with badab black, followed by leviathan purple
Cloth: shade with chaos black
Rifle casing: highlight with 50/50 mix of chaos black and codex grey
Teeth/bone: highlight with khemri brown
Wire/eyes: highlight with liche purple

Stage 3
Armour: highlight with kabal greenBrass: shade with 50/50 mix of devlan mud and badab black
Flayed skin:layer with 50/50 mix of tallarn flesh and rotting flesh
Bodysuit: highlight with 50/50 mix of nightmare blue and space wolves grey
Metal: highlihgt with chainmail
Cloth: highlight with 50/50 mix of liche purple and space wovles grey
Rifle casing: highlight with codex grey
Teeth/bone: layer with bleached bone
Wire/eyes: highlight with 50/50 mix of liche purple and space wolves grey

Stage 4
Armour: edge highlight with webway green followed by scorpion green
Brass: highlight with a 50/50 mix of grotesque gold and mithril silver
Flayed skin: highlight with 50/50 mix of tallarn flesh and rotting flesh
Bodysuit: highlight with space wolves grey
Metal: highlight with mithril silver
Cloth: highlight with 50/50 liche purple and skull white
Rifle casing: edge highlight with fortress grey
Teeth/bone: highlight with skull white
Wire/eyes: highlight with 50/50 mix of liche purple and skull white

And that's why I decided to come up with my own kabal lol!
well, it's one of the reasons anyway.
