Hey guys.

I recently brought myself a ravager and i am struggling to think of what to equip it with?, i mostly face Necrons and Eldar. the necron player only fields 1 or 2 tanks at most and the eldar player usually takes 2 squads of 3 walkers, fire prisms and something called a shadow stalker? web stalker? some imperial armour tank with a big D - cannon on it.....

The thing i like about Dark eldar is the amount of anti tank it can take, so is it really worth me putting 3 more dark lances on a heavy support slot? the Disintegration cannons are pretty damn nice for necron killin'! i just never hear any1 else taking them

Here's what I think - don't glue the weapons to the Ravager OR magnetize the DL's and the Dissies so that you can interchange at least 1.

If you're going to field 3 Ravagers in your list, load 1 with Dissies, great against TEQ or MEQ with FnP

well to be honest i have 1 razorwing jetfighter, that comes with 2 dark lances and anti infantry missiles.... so i suppose i can have 1 with 3 cannons and 1 with 3 lances?...

btw what does TEQ and MEQ mean? Razz

MEQ = Marine Equivalent (T4, 3+ Sv)
TEQ = Terminator Equivalent (T4, 2+ Sv)
GEQ = Guard Equivlanet (T3, 5+ Sv)

You'll be hearing those a lot Smile

Our kabalite warriors are what you'd call GEQ.

And a razorwing with stock monoscythe missiles and 2 dark lances is great for its duality. That and 2 ravagers really gives the best balance between AT and AI from heavy support slots imo.

Then you dont have to scrounge around for every scrap of AT in your other slots. The razorwing drops of its load, then acts as a lesser ravager from then on.

I've never used disintegrators on ravagers ever, but 1++ has the right idea. magnetize both sets of weapons, then switch them out, and see which you prefer from playing with them.

i Know i should magnetize the weapons but i can never really be bothered and im not that good at stuf like that Sad, but why would you ' NEVER' use cannons on the ravagers?, and i was considering using the necrotoxin missiles rather then the monoscythe, is that another mistake id make? Sad

i only ever really go for the most obvious idea's... my first army was orks and didnt really require alot of thought lol, thats why im not too good at dark eldar just yet ^.^

First of all - dont glue guns , its possible to have them installed without glue or magnets.

Second - its Lances in this edition, always Lances.
You can take Des Ravager at extremely low points 500-750.

Reasons for that are simple, you can have plenty anti-infantry from other sources and you need this mobile anti-tank on Ravager. Also cover is in abundance so all this mighty-ap will just reduce marine save from 3+ to 4+.

It may change in next edition, which will be released in summer , and for that reason dont glue guns. They may be usefull some day.

Thats just overpaying for essentially same thing. Strenght 6 wounds marines on 2+, same as Necrotoxin. For those with better base toughness then marines you will have lots of poisoned shots in pretty much any roster you take. Necrotoxin also cant even scratch vehicles, which monoscyte at least have a chance to.

Pinning is also quite useless in this edition, unless you are taking whole army with pinning guns.

As for magnetising - well its really simple but require couple things.

First of all - hobby Drill. And magnets. themself.

I would say they are a must in our hobby, small investment and big payoff. You gonna be needing them to swap your HQ options, squad leaders upgrade etc...

Pretty much what Azdrubael said.

answering the missiles question. The non-stock missiles are far too expensive to get, and then you're making your razorwing far too expensive for a unit that is worse than your ravagers after its blown its load.

Also, the main reason you'd take a razorwing over a ravagar (besides liking the awesome model) is for horde killability. And the monoscythe missiles do just that perfectly fine.

The razorwing is also pretty awesome for taking out space wolf longfangs, which is a big priority for dark eldar.

I like the DCs. Of course, I play mostly Apocalypse and have 10 blasterborn squads as it is... Wink

but the terminator-killing capacity of the 3 DCs is sometimes very helpful.

It's pretty nifty, tho I liked S7 blasts more since it could harm tanks too and was... better Sad

I actually would consider DC on Raiders.
1) You don't replace best AT unit (Ravager) with... another AI (venoms excels in that).
2) Raider need to be close, so it can maneuver over terrain and use AP2.

Also flayers can benefit from that due to this silly 6" high base.

IMO for razor wings, for how I use them, I take 2 disintegrator cannons. I use them as heavy anti infintry platforms and I'd much rather have 6 s5 ap2 (terminator killers) shots than 2 s8 ap2 shots. With the list I run now when they arrive from reserve I can typically pick 1 I engaged MEQ squad and with the alpha strike of the missiles + the disintegrator cannons make that squad go away.
