I love this list.
The Succubus is an amazing missile and I’m pretty convinced that Drazhar out does any archon build, that archon sits in a pretty solid support slot.
Our MSU and movement with transports has been doing me well.
And triple Incubi is absolutely terrifying.

I’m considering dropping a Ravager for more grots.
With trouble coming onto earth objectives without being blasted off or charged, those grots are looking mighty tasty.
The only thing, is to fit them in, I would have to drop the scourges for possibly a group of mandrakes and worried about them getting taken out early as I keep my scourges high in the sky to get rnd and possibly behind or all fronts.

Also, im wondering if the Co12 is worthwhile or if I should swing with the meta and take Prophets with the wound regen.
I’ve been bouncing back and forth pretty hard but im kinda worries about heavy weapons

List looks good. Should be able to do Dark Eldar things with that many punches.

I am a big fan of more Grots. Depending on how competitive you play, going with 3x5 Grots can add A LOT of pressure to the opponents decision making process.

I just finished a RTT running Coven heavy (14 Grots and 50 Wracks). Having that much durability allows you to move up and play the "I dare you to come at me" game. If they move forward and punch your Wrack screen, you punch back with your Grots/Incubi. If they dont move forward, you outscore them.

However, in a highly Competitive environment, this strategy doesnt work too well. The top armies are able to put out enough damage that they can easily wipe 20 Wracks and 5 Grots every turn.

For my strategy of "heavy pressure" I went with AotF (-1 damage). I have also played around with Coven of 12, and the extra AP is really tastey into Marines. IMO Profits of Flesh isnt as good as the other two, the Transhuman doesnt come into play very often and the 1 Wound you heal is inconsequential. But thats my opinion from a Competitive Point of View.

If your looking to save some points, you could probably drop some of your Transport upgrades, and the Wrack upgrades.

The most important thing in list building is to have AT LEAST 3 games into different armies before changing anything. That way you learn what does/doesnt work (your view can get skewed after 1 game with 1 opponent).

May all your Realspace Raids be successful, fellow Archon!

Thanks for reply!
I liked the Co12 for being able to RnD or other objective actions and then poke a bit with the liquifiers
I’ve been running this list for the past few months and I was starting think that there had to be a better coven.
I had totally forgot about custom covens for some reason!
Because looking at Prophets, I wasn’t super keen on the idea that anything above 8 str was unaffected when that’s exactly what I’m worried about. Meltas and heavy gauss can break a grot line pretty easily.
Since I’m running drazhar instead of a haemonculous, it only makes sense to lean into some custom covens because I’m not losing anything.

As far as upgrades go, if I lose Co12, I’m scrapping the liquid guns for sure. If I can spare the points, I do like having the extra attacks on the transports as I’m pretty good at getting them into melee before they pop, and 5pts for an extra 3 attacks usually lands an extra wound, but if I can fit something else in it might be more worthwhile.
Ultimately, I’m hoping to hit a tournament at some point in the near future for the first time and I appreciate all the advice.

Quick question with the venom, I feel I’ve been using it wrong, I have it mostly for dropping the kabalites around a the board for rnd, engage, and behind. That extra splinter cannon helps it poke some while it’s waiting for an opening, but with the -1 to hit I’ve been considering screening with it as well.

Also, you seem to be the reigning archon of information for competitive play around these parts, do you have a discord or anything?

Why not change the Lances on your Raiders to Dissies? That gives you solid anti power armor shots and 15 spare points.

Another suggestion would be the Animus Vitae for your Archon. Could give a little boost, when needed.

Oops, thought I had thrown that animus on my archon already.
Still kinda learning when the best time to use it is, but I recently swapped out a labrynthine cunning for it.

As far a dis cannons go, I feel like I need the lances more.
Between grots and incubi, plus those couple of splinter cannons, I already have a lot of dmg 2 weapons.
Unfortunately I play against Deathguard pretty often and with squats coming out as well and one of our group looking to buy into them, having that extra bit of damage seems essential

So little modifiers here and there.
Got that animus on the archon, im still keeping the ancient evil as I think the fight last is super useful for how melee centric the list is.
Dropped a Ravager for another group of grots and the upgrades on the transports for (why not) more wracks, albeit, without the whip. I figure I’ll probably keep them on back objective anyways.

Gonna give this a couple of runs and let y’all know how it turns out

Uhm, how about using Dissies on the Raiders and Blasters on your Scourges?
Gives you more punch against elite infantry without sacrificing too much anti-tank.
Its at least worth a try, or two...

The new list sure has tools for most situations, the trick (as always) is positioning and using it to full effect.

Highly recomend you practice deployment and Turn 1 movement before you hit up an actual game. Ensuring you position your Venom to score you Engage Turn 1 (it sucks when you end your Turn 1 move 0.5" from the 6" requirement). BTW there is nothing wrong with taking fast units like Venoms/Warriors to score you points (although I wouldent personally spend the points on the second Splinter Cannon).

You have already maxed out your Elite slots. If you ever find yourself with 1 to spare, Mandrakes are the go-to. They can forward deploy to stop the oponent from doing some Alpha strikes, and have a free "jump into deepstrike" to score you Engage/RND. They are not REQUIRED, but are a great tool to keep in the back of your head.

Be sure to remind yourself of your Secondaries every turn, and plan them out a turn ahead. Think of your movement phase as the "set up next turns scoring/killing" phase. Keep out of Line Of Sight as much as possible.

PS, im on the Skari Paetreon discord. A great place to discuss Dark Eldar things, plus he does a weekly Paetreon Only episode where he takes questions from the group and answers them. Its great value to have an actual professional answer your specific questions.

Good luck and continue practicing. Positioning, planning, Secondary Selections are super important and a HUGE part of playing DE.
