I put together a silly venom spam list just to see how many I could fit in there. Would this actually be a viable list? 13 venoms total, each with 5 warriors, 1 with blaster except for the 13th venom which would have 4 archons and a sslyth.

You can only have 3 of the same units other than troops and transports, you need to change an archon.

Remove and Archon and Sslyth to add in Drazhar, you also don't need a BP on all the archons if then are just aura bots

How would you deal with Marines taking mid-board if they get first turn? You should try to think about how you would play against the Meta lists.

Also, you will be giving up Bring It Down (kill vehicles), and possibly Attrition (kill more). All Fronts (table quarters) would be easy to score, what would your other 2 Secondaries likely be?

Lastly, the Venom Blade really gimps the Archons potential. Those 3 Archons (@amishprn86 is correct, you can only take 3) are not doing much for your list with only a Blast Pistol (although I think they are pretty good on your BS2 Archons).

Should be fun, please let us know how it goes so that we can all learn from your experience!

Well assuming 2 venoms will die turn 1, then assuming rapid range of Splinter rifles, no cover or -1.

Each venom is 18 shots (total 198 shots)

Given you have 3 Archons, lets assume 3 in range of the BH WL, lets say 4 in total in range of other 2 Archons.

3 Venoms with BH rr's all 1 = 4 dead models
4 Venoms in range of rr hits = 4 dead 1 wounded
4 Venoms out of range of rr's = 4 dead models

So 12 dead models, then with cover or -1 its realistically 8-9 dead models.
The 11 Blasters will kill 6 models on average outside of cover.

In total, you are looking at 18, more likely 14 dead marines turn 1 if only 2 venoms and 2 units of kabals die.

With that said, you can still win via points and just focus on getting enough primaries to max yours and not deny theirs, then focus on secondaries.

@amishprn86, that is some good math. Didnt realize each Venom+warriors transport was killing ~1 marine (not in cover).

This could be slightly boosted by just taking Flayed Skull (always re-rolling 1s to hit on rapid fire from the Venom).

Of course this is under ideal lab conditions, where everything is 12" away from the enemy. Real world would be less (as you have rightly stated in your post).

Still dont like all those Archons running around with Venom Blades. This could be converted to a Realspace Raiding force for a similar Venom Spam build, but without all the CP cost and Archon tax. Some warrior squads would need to get swapped for Mandrakes/Incubi, but I think that would actually help the list.

I would go FS for sure honestly, faster movement and easier RR's on all (including Kabals) over all its better for venom spam in Kabal.

If i were to do a venom spam kabal list, it would be more like that.

Finally a few PGL for stratagem MW's.

I think mostly flayed skull mixed with a little blackheart would be much better for you. I do think having some good close combat would do you a lot of good. Even just some incubi to help clear an objective quickly. 2x5 incubi and Drazar would be helpful.

Change:
-Every Archon into Haemonculus w/Whip+Hexrifle
Every 5 Kabals into 5 Wracks w/Osse+Hexrifle+Whip
Every Kabal into MasterMutagens+DarkTecnomancers
...and yes, it will be viable.

You lose 1-2 Venoms, but your poison becames +1W D2, you got sniping potential (a lot of mobile Hexrifles), toughness if you go second (Haemi on the board, +T to every Venom within 6"), Troops with T4 5++, and few help on melee if you focus your units (every Whip explodes autowounds hitting on 6+, Ap-2 D2.


But if you want to run a FullKabal, take the custom one (+3" movement + Fnp6+++ rerolling 1s so you got bot Flayed Skulls and Black Heart major buffs) and give a Blast Pistol to every Sybarite of the list. So now you have Venoms that move of 19" with a double blast shoot each. 25" threat range is enough.
