For a few years now I have had the idea of fielding an Incubi Temple army list, maximising the number of Incubi in the list. With new rules for Drazhar, and the ability to buff Incubi up a bit with Ynnari, I was thinking now is probably as good a time as any to see if this crazy concept can work on the tabletop.

The buffs available to Ynnari Incubi as of psychic awakening are:
Visarch reroll 1 to hit aura
Drazhar +1 to wound aura
Ynnari stratagem or psychic power reroll wounds in fight phase
Strength from Death
Power from Pain

So naturally all of those feature in the list. I'm not sure if there are improved Kabal obsessions over Black Heart, so I have stuck with that, and assumed points values aren't changing.

Can this list work? Any suggestions to make it stronger (other than cutting the Incubi of course!)?

The transports are all in the Black Heart detachment for the FNP. That did limit me a little because I had to put some of the Kabalites in Raiders instead of Venoms due to the number of units in the Black Heart part of the list. All the Incubi units and two Kabalite units from each detachment will be in Raiders.

Yvraine went with Gaze of Ynnead to provide some extra mortal wounds, rather than Shield of Ynnead to protect any dismounted Incubi.

Another option I considered, was dropping either Yvraine or The Visarch, along with some Kabalites, and turning the Ynnari detachment to a Vanguard, giving more points for say another Ravager and Razorwing Jetfighter. I feel like I could burn through command points though, so double Battalion is appealing.

That's an interesting suggestion, and the three detachments like that somewhat work. The buffed Raider damage is particularly appealing, and might even justify going all Raiders.

The main issue I have is reducing the number of Incubi, even if only by three. It also has a bit less firepower than I am comfortable with. Here is what I think is a slightly improved version of my original list with Kabal and Ynnari:

you drop 3 Incubi so 1 character can go into each Raider. Right now now all your characters are on foot or in 1 venom that if it gets popped you could lose one or more on 1's. With all the Scout, Eliminator, Infiltrator spam happening that seems like suicide. even with your new list I would not run Kabalites over Coven now. Venoms that wound on 2+ and are 2 damage are very good, If you do want Kabalites run as flayed skull. based on above here is how I would run it.

It's been a while since I've been playing, so will be interesting to see how much the local meta has shifted. Previously, snipers weren't a major factor, and if your observations match the local situation, then the approach of making a space in each Raider makes sense.

Will see the proper wording of the rules shortly. One rule question that would be interesting is whether the Haemonculus aura would make experimental creations work more easily.

Why wouldn't it? It's buffing the toughness, which is what the calc goes off of

I was wanting to check the wording of each rule, in case there was something like base toughness characteristic used. However, having checked the wordings, it is pretty clear the aura increases the toughness characteristic and experimental creations uses the characteristic, so can potentially be effective on toughness 5 targets.
