| I know what you mean. Funny how DE players suddenly come out of the woodwork when a good codex arrives. As the footy chant goes "Where were you when we were...erm...rubbish?" _________________ You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. In what world could you possibly beat me? | |

| I miss loading up an Archon with multiple Combat Drug boosts and the thrill of rolling three or more dice to see if she would overdose and die or not. | |

| Unfortunately I only started playing in 7th edition so don't have many old memories of the army, but I do miss the lance rule basically ensuring our Anti vehicle weapons never needed more than a 4 to do damage | |

Anti vehicle weapons never needed more than a 4 to do damage In all honestly, I don't miss that rule at all. I mean, a Lascannon used to be 48" S9 AP2 A Dark Lance was --------------- 36" S8 AP2 Now, the Lance rule had no effect on AV10-12 (which, unless I'm mistaken, was the range the most vehicles in the game fell into). So the +1S of the Lascannon is immediately better against all of those. Then, -1AV is identical to +1S against AV13, meaning the Lascannon is no worse than the Dark Lance against that. So the Dark Lance is only superior to the Lascannon against AV14, in exchange for not only being worse against AV10, AV11 and AV12, but also having only 3/4 of the range of the Lascannon. Worst of all, the Lascannon wasn't even a good anti-vehicle weapon to begin with. But while marines had Assault Cannons, Autocannons etc. to better hurt light vehicles, Melta to penetrate heavy ones, and Grav to take out virtually anything, all we had were more crappy Lances. Given how reliant we are on the same few weapons, I'd far rather they be functional (as now) than "special" (as they were previously).

| Those are fair points. I think this is probably a case of the rule being very good in my particular playgroup where av 13-14 was very common | |

| It felt unique and pretty cool when you were cracking AV14 though....I've got some fond memories of it, even if I'm happy with the state of Commorragh these nights. | |

But against that you could also get Haywire Scourges. Near the end of 7th, my Scourges were one of my most dreaded units. I also liked having a Disintegrator Ravager back then as well. It was a hard counter against units like Bikes, Terminators and could even kill low-armor vehicles somewhat reliably (where Haywire isn't as effective). Then back then we had viable Venom spam

| I miss the old rule that was saying "When you kill a model in close combat, roll a D6. On a 4+, that model is captured and sent to Commoragh"
In casual games with my friend, he would sometimes shoot his own models (yeah, it was not really legal, but very fun) to ensure I would not take them home.
