| So with the teaser articles we've seen this week, and the raiding party structure for our army, I'm thinking that at least two of each HQ will be handy for building various lists effectively. What does everyone else here do for alternate HQs, rather than having two identical models? The older (still v nice) Archon model is silly money on ebay. I've not looked for succubus or haemie alternatives yet. Is there any whisper or rumour of HQ variations on the horizon? Conversions, what do people use? I like the lhamaean as a female archon, but frustrating she's a single piece so can't swap out arms, head etc. Maybe an incubi body for an archon? What are other people's solutions? | |

| I`ve made my archontess from raider\hellions\kabalites bits. Very dinamic pose, interesting options.
But i like GW succubus pretty much. The old one, she just stand still with a glaive, like observing the battlefield. _________________ `We faced a Dysjunction... we were betrayed, destroyed, ashamed, hunted... Now look who is been risen from the ashes...`
Succubus Ariel the Vengefull of the Wych cult Blade Denied to her sister, archon Elieae after the conquering Low Commoragh Dark spire.

| Outside of Eldar kits, which are fully compatible, there's the AoS range. That includes characters like the Shadowblade Assassin https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NL/Dark-Elves-Shadowblade and the Tenebrael Shard https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NL/tenebrael-shard. Both make excellent Archon or Succubus stand-ins with an arm swap or two.

| I like the tenebrael shard, but think he looks more of a succubus option. Do you get male succubi? | |

| I've found the Mistweaver makes a good Succubus stand-in, too. | |

| My HQs are pretty much all conversions, and I'm particularly fond of making HQs out of Mandrakes. They're nothing special, really, I just like having unique/personalised HQs. If you're interested, here's what I've got at the moment: Mandrake Lord:- Spoiler:
-
I actually made this guy to be a Corsair Prince, back in 7th, with the wings standing in for a Jet Pack. Since Corsair Princes aren't a thing anymore, he'll probably be an Archon. I'd actually like to have another go at this one, probably using Scourge Wings. I don't think it's awful for my first attempt at modelling wings on a model, but I was never entirely satisfied with how they turned out. If I do, I'll have to resist the temptation to make him look even more like Illidan. Mandrake Sorcerer:- Spoiler:
-
He was intended as a sorcery-based Haemonculus. I'd originally hoped to use some demons or magic-looking constructs for various Coven units, but sadly that never came to pass. Albino Mandrake:- Spoiler:
-
This guy came about because I was using a different Mandrake for a themed-IG army, and quite liked how it looked with light-grey skin. Hence, I decided to go the whole hog and have a 'White Walker' Mandrake. Scourge Lord (WIP):- Spoiler:
-
Currently, this guy is only really differentiated from my other scourges by his vivid wings. I know I probably should have given him a different weapon, but I really like the look of our small, jagged daggers and it really fit the idea I had in mind for him. In the unlikely event that we're actually allowed winged HQs, I'll probably look at our artefacts for inspiration and see if I can customise his weapon or something. Fallen Angel:- Spoiler:
-
This was actually an attempt at a 'fallen angel' version of St. Celestine. But if we're ever allowed wings on our HQs, I'll definitely use this guy.

| Dig the fallen angel! Dark eldar have a lot of easy kitbashing. Converting archons is probably the best part of playing dark eldar! That and the awesomeness of playing a do or die army.
Or converting squad leaders. Those are also fun as frak. q

| Those look really good. Gotta agree with PFI, that fallen angle looks fantastic. Is the head on the scythe scrap built or is it a bladevane ? | |

Cheers. The scythe is a bladevane mounted on one of the spear things from the Raider kit. It actually fitted pretty well with minimal modding required.

| Without heavy conversions, I would say Incubi, Lhamaean can be cut into pieces easily actually. For Archon we have 2 different Archons.
Otherwise, with some (quite) heavy conversions: -For Succubus: Dark Elf Wyches/Hellebron/Morathi/Dark elf sorceress/Tenebrael Shard as stated above. Plan to do mine by going with Morathi. Some conversions for the weaponry, and maybe cut the wings out. You can also go with the Raging Heroes mini, they have some really cool models for Succubus!
-Archons: Waystrider, Shadow Warriors, Darkfleet Master in AoS/Fantasy. Eldar Autarch can be nice (going to do one of my Archons with Yriel. The second will be the old school one).
-Haemonculus is more complicated, but we have 2 already good models I think.

| I miiiight steal that idea. I really liked it. Allways been a fan of bo staffs and bladed variants of it. Might work as a power lance for a Solitare. Now the only problem remaining is if I'd ever run a Power Lance Solitare | |

| I've seen some Heamies done with the Tech priest Dominous and one of the Cairn Wraith kits to some success. But all coven is really up to any wild conversion. They are crazy flesh shapers after all. | |

| I made use of an Eldar farseer as the basis for my archon. Took off the head and replaced with a kabalite warriors helmet and replaced the singing spear with the trident from the old wych models. I was trying to recreate the picture out of the back of the old 3rd edition codex, the archon stood with the claws and the billowing cloak (if anyone can remember what I'm talking about). | |

| I can only find the old soul trap version on ebay for ~£35 in metal. The only finecast one on there NIB is up for £100 It's definitely not available in the UK from games workshop. _________________ Do you fight for the Dark Gods? The Drukhari gave birth to one of them. By partying.

| I used a black ark fleet master as my corsair Prince, use him as an extra Archon.

| Ohhh! I just saw those new daughters of khaine girls with wings. They are "standing" on their tails but they look super dynamic. Take off their wings and give them Dark Eldar weapons and they make for a super dynamic and cool Succubus! | |

| I've just bought a Visarch from ebay to use as my Archon after a little swapping of parts, so that could also be an option. | |
