They didnt increase Smite only ones or smaller ones like Warlocks, Spiritseers, Shdaowseers, Neurothropes, Weirdboyz etc.. those all stayed the same.
The ones that went up are the ones that had good, or better smites and did many other things like the M.Lords
Malefic Lords went up in price manily b.c of its ability not smite spam, if a M.lord perils it becomes Str8 -2ap 2 damage 5 attacks with WS 2+.
Meaning when you have 10 of them Smiting that yes hurts VERY badly but if any perils, now a Str8 character with AP and good damage is walking around... thats freaking insane. Oh PS, it also has a 4++.
Smite really wasnt the problem, smite is or Was fine. IMO the problem with the game is the Detachment system combine with no Comp Score (You must take a Max % amount of points in FA, Heavy, Elite, and a minimum % in Troops) I really miss comp score.
I would have done
HQ-2 units max
Elite/Fast/Heavy max 25%
Detachments will modify the comp score, Spear Head, Out rider, Vanguard will allow up to 40%, Supreme will allow 3 HQ's, LoW/Fortifications etc...
This would fix most the problems in trying to manage the insane balancing problems and spam we see.
I like the idea take what you want, but limiting it a little bit would still be good.
