| Hardly a surprise, I'm just glad that we got a break of two Xenos armies beyond our regularly scheduled program of Marines in Various Colors. _________________ "Death solves all problems. No man, no problem."

| Eh, on the plus it's all marines and chaos so after that hopefully we get a xenos or two after.
What are the odds on DA getting the Lion

| I think it'll be interesting to see how they manage Daemons. They're the only big army with no real sub-factions beyond god dedications, which CSM have already used in a different way to sub-factions. I wonder if they'll get some, or get something else in place of them. | |

| Oh my, well that quite embarrassing...
Im mostly intressted if they split most strategems up per god or per type of model. Since that would imply them going in a similar direction with our Codex. (eg strat for Juggernauts or Khorn unit)

| Do deathguard and ultra marines have sub factions? _________________ “No. Stop. Don’t go in there. You’ll all be killed,’ Motley murmured sardonically”

| I'd say they are subfactions, just a really fleshed out subfactions. | |

| Indeed. They're not "major" armies of their own, they are "spinoffs". I would call Daemons a major army. | |

| What codexes are left after these next three?
1. Dark Eldar 2. Space Wolves 3. Orks 4. Tau 5. Thousand Sons 6. Ynnari (maybe??) 7. Harlequins 8. Necrons
Am I missing anything? Are any of the ones I've listed not a given at this point (i.e. not definitively going to get a codex)?

| 9. Genestealer Cults 10. Imperium Mini-faction fun bin (Sisters of Silence, Assassins, etc.) 11. Deathwatch 12. Sisters of Battle 13. Inquisition
Assuming that Chaos Daemons are released in the early half of January, that leaves 6ish months for 13 codicies, discounting any minor factions/new ones. Looks like GW is staying pretty steady with releasing two a month, they might have to quicken their schedule minutely. _________________ "Death solves all problems. No man, no problem."

They might have to skip out on one of the minor factions. No-one cares about this little army called Dark Eldar for instance, may as well skip them for Sisters of Silence.

Yeah, I'm semi-joking with my Tyranid friend that he won't be playing against Dark Eldar until our codex comes out. Given point reductions/traits/stratagems...it is becoming somewhat overwhelming to believe I can stay formidable against what his army will look like in a week. _________________ Kabal of the Killing Moon

| Orks, Tau, and Necron must get a codex before a little niche faction like DE, I'd think. I understand that. Feed the machine. It's all the stupid marine love that's getting so fatiguing. | |

Look, if you cannot accept that every chapter of marines deserves their own full codex release before the DE get theirs shoved in the back of the new Ynnari codex, you clearly don't love the hobby enough and should sell all your models. Marines DESERVE to get more releases than the rest of the armies combined.

| See, I think that Eldar will be interspersed through codex releases. Craftworlds were first because, I believe anyway, that they're close to the most popular Xenos army. Next will either Be Harlequins, as just a buffer, or Ynnari. Ynnari will be released in tandem with their new Black Library series. Finally, DE will be crammed in near the back.
On one hand, this'll be good because, theoretically, we'll be balanced for any latent codex creep.
On the other, we'll have to deal with our increasingly inadequate index for another ~7 months for a codex that maybe might defy the trend set by our past two books in terms of power.
Naturally, all of this is speculation, take this with a level of salt equivalent of my above vent.

Yeah it is frustrating; I'm fine with us being even the last major codex released...but it stings when the Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines subfaction codexes are released before hand. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if the power discrepancy wasn't so severe. I get that GW is trying to create hype and support a marketing campaign, but its at the detriment of balanced play.

I suspect that 12 and 13, and maybe 10, will be all rolled together into Agents of the Imperium.

| Keep your chins up. Dark Eldar were supposed to be the next book, but our letter we sent in actually worked and now GW is making our codex better! They listened to us!
Ps I’m not being serious, but I’d like to think this is really the case.
