Absentee Haemonculus Returning to 8th

Hi gang,

I packed away my minis before 8th came out and now I'm contemplating a return, but looking for advice from grizzled vets before I plunge back in.

I previously played pretty Coven heavy; lots of Wracks and Grots with Venoms, Raiders and Ravagers.

Is this kind of force still viable or am I looking at a major overhaul to be competitive ?

Really hard to say what will be competitive right now. But coven units seem pretty good. For sure get a few pain engines. Ravagers are amazing.

Indeed, everything is still in the progress of being found out. However, I think Coven heavy armies will rely strongly on the buff bubble of the Haemonculus that gives +1T (even our transports).

Is the Covers supplement still in effect or had that been rendered obsolete?

Obsolete, just like everything else that came before 8th edition.

My first game with a covens list went swimmingly. Ravager drew all the fire, then the wracks and grotesques came boiling over the hill in a grey swarm. It was ugly.
