Am I the only one who thinks that Vect will just die? Latest stuff I hear is that Abbadon dies too. So why not Vect?
I thought that the running theory is that Abaddon dies and achieves apotheosis becoming a Daemon Prince.
If Vect genuinely dies, his options are become some sort of warp god using eldritch technologies and the souls of billions of captives over the years, or...just die.

Nah. No Chaos triumvirate. Abbadon goes splat! :-D My friend just finished his CHSM army and I just told him that I will field all three triumvirates to test him. :-D :-D :-D He wasnt happy! OMG! My friend is Vect!

I guess I'm not looking at this the same as others who conclude Vect may be coming back to the tabletop.
Seems to me that its just another teaser of the fluff to promote the new Fracture of Biel-tan book. If they intended to bring back Vect with a new model and rules why would they recycle old DE art instead of new art? I'm not confident this implies any more Pure Dark Eldar updates just yet.

I'm afraid you might be correct. The ynnead stuff is the only thing coming for the true kin.

Well, at least they haven't forgotten he exists

I like the doppelgangers idea.
If "presumed" Vect were to be killed in action, on a 2+ he reveals himself in another DE unit as their squad leader. All special rules for that unit apply to him and he receives the squad leaders special wargear/equipment, as well as his own. Should he be killed again, on a 3+ he returns in another squad. Should he be killed subsequently again, he'd return on a 4+, 5+, 6+.
This would encourage us to bring more Sybarites, Arena Champions, Klaivexes, Abberations, etc.
On a failed roll, obviously you got the man.

On a 1 on the first roll he reveals himself as Trollzyn, laughs at you and runs away.

Haha, I love the idea of the enemy suddenly realizing that they're not fightning a huge mostrosity and the leader of a Grotesque group but the ruler of all Commorragh.

That is a beautiful thought. (Imagine him climbing out of a clown suit esque thing to reveal it too.

I could see Vect being killed or replaced by a lesser Archon who's cunning plan finally brought Vect down. It really sort of fluffy for Dark Eldar to fight each other in open war in a sort of Orkish manner. Mind you I prefer the fluff as it is myself with Vect very much alive and well. I like that when the Dark Eldar fight outside of Commorragh they put everything aside and work really well together.

I can unfonrtunately see Vect dying, though I hope he doesn't. But part of me isn't expecting a new model. If there were to be one, the breaking of Khaine's Gate and the battles in Commoragh that resulted would be the perfect time, and theres no sign of it.
What I also hope doesn't happen, is I can see Commoragh splitting apart. Two worlds have already gone, and I can see Commoragh being split into the Satellite Realms, floating independently in the Webway. From a narrative perspective its give smore freedom for variation within the Dark/True Kin.

...when they saw that Vect's rulership of the new Dark city was to be even harsher than that of his former tenure, they were quick to seek out Yvraine and take on her colours.
I guess this confirms that Vect lives on, ruling over a new Dark City, whether that is just Commoragh reborn following the Daemon invasion or an entirely new realm remains to be seen.

Well, it would be weird if he died during the invasion (due to daemons) since he has been preparing for this for some time now. The only way I'd see him die is if Lady Malys killed him.

I'm a GW insider...
Spoiler:
not really
Actually found them on 4chan's /tg/ board. Also apparently you can find some of the rules for the new detachments in Fracture of Biel-Tan on the iTunes preview for it, but only apple users can see it.

Apparently you can download the previews from the Black Library, the Ynnari look like they are going to be pretty powerful on the table top.

Those rules look bonkers. If they are real, we have access to many cheap units who will die well to buff other stuff. Looking at those single beastmasters, lhameans (and even hellions from the Gangs box set)
