Thinking of putting together a list for a local tourney, somethign fun and colourful so i decided to do covens and clowns, no surprise.

thoughts for my list so far are:

Grotesquerie
Corpsethief Claw
Scalpel Squadron
2x Dark artisan
(Maybe Scarlet Epicurians)

3x5 Troupes in starweavers
1x jeathsester
1x shadowseer
2x6 skyweavers
1 voidweaver
(Cast of players w/named jester for cover save shenannigans maybe)

any suggestions?

Can you tell us a bit about the tourney? What are the points? What types of missions are going to be played? What forces are you likely to see?

You've got a very assault heavy series of units on offer, with things that are geared towards cutting or shooting down things with a Toughness value.

Popping vehicles could be a pain unless you rush in quick and put the grotesques and skyweavers to work or give Heat Lances/Haywire Blasters to your numerous Taloi!

You have 12 Harlie-bikes!? WOW! There is no air support, but the rate of fire from the Jetbikes at air targets could do work.

You have a small psychic presence. The Shadowseer with a Mask Of Secrets goes well with Freakish Spectacle from the coven units. Leadership attacks could be very good. If you want to go that way, though, more psychic dice are required unless you do not see psykers in your area. I personally feel that Harlies really need psychic protection.

my harlie bikes are (old style) dark eldar reavers with hellions magnetized on the back skuboard and all to elongate the craft. the harlie masks masks glued on for sport (or faceless at least from wyches) came from the voidweaver kits, all straddling large flying bases because i am cheap.

I dunno, 600 pts on bikes that will splat real fast is just not a greatest idea to me though. I want to try it out and just have fun.

Format: 2500pts. 3 Rounds (2 hrs each).
ITC Rules for the most part, aside from the points limit.

I am considering 2 groups of 4 bikers though on account of i dont want to shell out that many points on them.

Still bothers me that an archon cant ride a bike or skyboard, or even grow wings... oh well Razz
either way, since the beginning I have been holding back on including craftworld or dark eldar to make this thing work...

the negatives from mask of secrets freakish spec and armour of misery (think there was another one) are almost too tempting to pass up. Especially considering the bulk of players in my area are Tau, Nids, Orks (and of course Marines... but w/e).

I could 'in theory' just pump the list full of shadowseers leaving enough room for maybe 2 deathjesters. It's been tempting from the beginning, but two deathjesters can be very useful especially against someone who hasn't seen it in action before. the next turn becomes a game of cat and mouse vs 1 guy... (again abuse of massive -LD penalties completely overlooked.)
