As one of said players with wildly different priorities, I can say that I normally don't agree with you because I want what is best for competitive play, but that in this particular case, I'm in agreement that it wouldn't make any sense for DE to suddenly work for space marines.
It'd make more sense for DE to be enslaving some marines or imperial citizens in exchange for guiding space marines through the webway, which is likely precisely what is happening. It's said that there is talk of a "dark pact" made between the black templars and DE in exchange for the DE using the webway to get the dark templars to Cadia. It doesn't go into detail what the pact was, but my personal speculation...
...With Cadia having BILLIONS upon billions of people who'd die without help, what is it to the empire if they agree to give up 100 million cadians as DE slaves to save the whole planet?

Ey when the wolves come to raid your farm... The DE won't stand aside, even if the cattle do think they run the place.

I agree that Dark Eldar are their own race and really hope they don't merge us into a generic eldar army... but it is about time we got some love, weren't we supposed to get a new codex in the second half of 2016? Either way, I don't see why having Khan "lead" us into battle is all that bad ... cause to me this sounds like a perfect plan that would come from the twisted mind of Vect one of his close subordinate Archon, or from a Haemonculus, Learn that a major imperial planet with billions upon billions of potential slaves and arena sacrifices is in desperate need of help and we happen to have one of their "hero's" within our grasp ... why not use him to lure them all willingly into the webway? have him "lead" the dark eldar into the fight with the offer to pull them all to safety lead them into the webway and turn on them enslaving them for the arena and the torture chambers of the haemonculus, on top of that we take one of the hero's of the imperium and bend him to our will and purpose using him ... i could see something like that happening. We could even use some of those captured to coax hither to unknown denizens of the webway to hire for mercenaries or enslave to fight for us, and hopefully this also means we will either reveal some bigger and tougher ships or a couple new weapons, or small upgrades to our already existing weapons, and a couple redone rules, I'm just excited for a Dark Eldar release ... as long as they remain the True Kin

Nah. We were never going to get a new codex. If that rumor even had a grain of truth it's for a campaign product that isn't anywhere near out. No comment on the theorycrafting, I think you may not understand the nuances of how these events interact chronologically as well as you think you do, but I can't state assuredly that GW is aware of their own fluffs temporal constraints either.

I've heard a rumor saying they don't want to re-release DE in 7th edition, but rather have us be one of the first codexes released after 8th edition. Hopefully this doesn't (AGAIN) translate into them working out their bumbling and stumbling between editions on our codex, but it probably will.
Since the person writing a codex won't have any experience with the new edition, and GW's internal communications are abysmal, rule oversights, conflicts, and general dysfunction are to be expected. But HOPEFULLY we'll have inspired dysfunction rather than the bland, flavorless excuse for a codex we got in 7th edition.
I really hope someone has the guts at GW to piss on the guy who wrote that codex and just say, "OK guys, this was a complete mistake, in the next codex, we're using the 5th ed codex as our base to work copy/paste from, NOT this one."
The only 2 good things off the top of my head that came out of the new codex were reavers and scourges, but even the reavers were a mixed blessing. I wouldn't mind at all if they put reavers back to the way they were before.

I hope we get a formation soon. The Purge Corterie was at least in the right direction (even if it was horribly implemented, and barely useable).
As for 8th, I have yet to see anything that makes me believe this will happen this year (besides our historic release schedule of ~3 years each)

It was good until the new FAQ came out and the archon couldnt give orders from inside a transport, being obviously an unintended interaction that the designer didnt have in mind when writing the rule.
- Your daily fix of spanish Dark Eldar tactica, now with 100% more Ynnari and Harlequins.

I agree. No Dark Eldar would even feign service to a Mon-Keigh. Any plan that required us to do that would be disregarded. We would manipulate them in some other way, or not at all.
My 8th edition fandex is complete enough for appraisal (note that I completed it before any previews had been released) . I'm sure there are inconsistencies, please let me know where they lie as you find them. Thank you! Click here for fandex

My thought is that if they go with the story of Khan "leading" the True Kin it will be that Vect, or whom ever, thinks that they've manipulated the primarch. But with GWs tendency to make the Imperium allways come on top in the end, Khan will probably pull some shenanigans and dubblecross the DE and all will be good for mankind with some minor/hopefully major losses.
I have doubts that GW will portrait one of their leagons, and a popular one, to have a wimp arse Primarch getting played so bad.
But god I hope they make more of it with a longer positive arch for the DE for once. Getting god damn sick of True king getting the short hand in encounters with the Imperium. Read the Tales of heresy ? About 10 Space wolves kills a whole Kabal.... Just like that... And some pleb, whos only training was alone with a sword for a couple of years, holds his on agains a Archon.

Part of my enjoyment of 40k comes from ignoring nearly every piece of fluff-ignoring, canon-breaking drivel published by the Black Library.
