| Greetings, Ive just decided to get back into my DE and decided to start a new Kabal. Ive used purple and green as my primary colors before but this time ive gone a different direction. Here are the first 2 test kabalites that ive completed. | |

| Very nice. I really like simpler color schemes, and actually find a lot of details on models like this can get lost in high contrast and complex paint. The blood splatter is a very realistic. Curious if that's tamiya clear red or if GW has come out with something to do the trick?
I was thinking about doing a similar shade on my corsairs which are exodite and sort of insect themed (using lots of winged models, hornets, and insectiod looking jetbikes). I'm a pretty lazy painter though and was just going to hit them with a desert yellow spray can and them dip them a couple times.

| Thanks they are a lot of fun to paint. I also agree on a simple paint theme. You can really focus on the details that can get lost easily.
The blood affects are from blood for the blood god from GW. Its amazing and all I do is put a little bit on a sponge and lightly dab the sponge where you would like some gore.

| Nice colour scheme and execution of the rust and blood! The orange certainly screams alien. Love seeing some weathered soldiers as well.
Constructive criticism from a random stranger (take it or leave it) - perhaps add some more shading to the orange to darken up the parts that would be in shadow. You could do this by adding a brown wash (similar to the brown lining you have on the armour plates) and then building up your base colour again on the upper surfaces. Possibly some highlights on the raised areas/edges. Even if you are trying to get a lot of troops painted quickly these steps should be pretty fast and would introduce some contrast to make the orange really pop.
Looking forward to seeing how they all look together on a battlefield!

| Refreshing color choice. It is really working for these guys. The simple scheme plus the weathering gives them character. If they were mine and I wanted to improve them a little while still keeping it nice and simple, i would see if I could get some shade in the creases with a good wash. Or just ink directly in the crevices. Also with the new gemstone paints from GW, giving the gems a little love would be an easy last step that will give the models some interesting details to catch the eye. Looking forward to seeing more. | |

| Thanks for the advice and encouragement. I agree with both of you on using some more shading and washes to add some more contrast and definition. I did recently just purchase some of the new gem colors and have been using it on my first venom. I should have that finished by tonight or tomorrow and will post some new photos. | |

| Dranazar the flayed half born
A sadistic Archon who flays the skin from his own arms, Loves the pain but also finds skin repulsive.
As a Sybarite he was unfortunate or lucky enough to have been killed by a sadistic Haemonculus' who liked to kill and re-animate half-born Dark eldar for fun. While Dranazar was being tortured he developed a love for the pain and in particular loved having his skin flayed.
Still a wip on his back story but i think im going to use that as a start.

| When I read that this was called the Kabal of the Seared Throat, I thought it was Seared Toast and was like, "COUNT ME IN!" | |
