Usually I don't post any of my work because I'm, in fact, not that good of a painter. I am learning and trying to find my own way in it. But I find a much bigger joy in building my own look to the army. And I was very proud of this result!

During the build of my second Raider I kind of couldn't get the pirate theme out of my head, the rest is history and better told with some pics from my HQ's raider.

WARNING: PICS COULD LOAD SLOW!!

Damaged Sails and scratches on the lower side.

It's massive cutting blades, for you know what Wink. I guess the blood from it's victims of the last 3 battles is somewhat poisoning, so it contributes to the Wracks on board.

The ship's proud and joy, chains still need a bit of dirtying

And what's a good pirate ship without it's skulls on deck?

And some more damage on it's front panels

Thanks for watching. I would love to hear what you think.

Hey, that damaged sail looks actually pretty good!
Figurehead from Necron looks ok too.

I'm not fan of bright green tho, I would fill whole gaps between plates or (if it's "light") try to blend it with 2-3 tones with background like You did with "roofs".

Anyway it's good, "piratey" Raider. Moar!

Reminds me of a Junk.

Different enough to stand out I like it.

Do me a favour and replace your bold red text with something else. I'm about to implement a new rule governing moderation and red text. Thanks

[I'm on the job, boss! Replaced red with white. And tried red "mod",] L_O

Thx L_O, fixed your sig for ya

Thanks for the positive feedback on the sails and Necronhead ^.^

Paint job is not finished at it is, but I was so trilled when I put on the head, I just had to post it.
Thanks though for the advice on the blend on the green corners. I didn't really thought about what is would represent, I just like the look of it. I tried to color in the whole ledge, but I didn't like it as much as this.

And I like the green as it sort of represents the excessive use of poison. And to me green feels toxic/poison-ish.

OK, that figurehead is great, nice and intimidating, especially with the necrons rumored to be right around the corner.

Hmm, the different placement of the sail and the positioning of the keels are giving me ideas on a similar type (or heck, even just the same) conversion of a HQ Raider.

@ ESE: The what pirate theme? Sure, tell me what angle or what part you would fancy a pic of. I didn't have a lot of spare time lately so the paintjob isn't inproved/any further than in these pics (except for the crew getting their first layer, nothing special)

I'm glad I could be a source of inspiration, good to hear! thnx mates
