| This is an interesting kit. By turns fun and frustrating to paint. Currently grinding out the next five and then taking a break to do some single figures or something, the assembly line approach is really draining me on these guys. [/img]

Both units look beautiful. You've really nailed the fleshy, muscular parts, from what I can see, and the robes look full of texture and colour. Especially envy the highlights and lowlights on the protruding bones on their backs Do you plan to use them in games? Would you run any formations?

| Thanks all for the kind words! Pleased to have them finished @hydranixx - the bones are actually just washed with Agrax Earthshade mixed 60/40 with acrylic (Lhamean) medium. I did some highlighting on the first set, but didn't bother with the second set of five, and am still pretty happy with the results (and the saved time). I plan to use them as a scalpel squadron | |

Also, I'll be waiting to see if you post any new content I can peruse

| Decided to try to turn this into an ongoing plog. Early WIP of the Urien model I'm currently working on. It is SO refreshing to work on a single mini after beating thru a unit of ten. | |

A suitable villain to lead your crew of Wracks. I look forward to seeing him complete. I'm particularly interested to see what you do with those haemovores writing beneath him.

Yeah, I'm sort of hemming and hawing about them. Any suggestions welcome, really. Also thought I'd start photographing previously completed models to fill in this plog, so that it represents (eventually) the entire crew. Bought an Ur-Ghul blister, made greenstuff models of the heads, and transformed some old WFB ghouls A couple more members of the Court...

Thanks! I'll post some of my earlier attempts soon, and you will see it is entirely down to practice. Here's a few more members of the Court. Still down a Lhamean, been holding out for a metal one.

| Very impressive work, especially the Ur-Ghuls I was intending to rely on straight greenstuffing the heads perhaps I should learn how to mold? Any suggestions of a suitable tutorial? | |

| We actually have some rules against discussing molding in too much detail (well casting, duplicating, cloning type stuff) I don't exactly know what the limit is here but there are copyright issues.
The easiest (and least controversial) thing would be press molding: Which is basically just take an impression of a surface you want, like this face. There are actually products more suitable but green stuff works if you allow it to cure thoroughly and lubricate it with a release like vaseline. It's key never to let green stuff touch green stuff for obvious reasons, there should always be a layer between.
There should be tons of tutorials on youtube etc.

| Having reviewed said rules more closely, lets say those heads are just patterned after the Ur-Ghul aesthetic and leave it at that. The Archon Mhargoryaeg, whose Court has previously been shown | |

| Over all: Very nice painting, crisp and stylish. The skin colour really enhances the sinister vibe the model has got going. It always feels wierd giving criticism to a great painter... My only suggestion would be to add some blood stains to the apron. Might tie in the red of the snake-things with the rest of the model? Also maybe higlight som of the red tubes on the right most arm thingy to bring it up to the same level of brightness as the left green tubes on the left arm thingy?
Again, very, very nice!

| Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback. I think you may be right about the red, and I'll see if a little orange won't do the trick. I also think your blood on the apron suggestion is spot on, in terms of tying the different colors together and leading the eye. The only reason I'm hesitant about that specifically is I've planned to have zero blood splatter anywhere on the army. Done right I think it can look amazing, but I'm not sure I trust myself that much. | |
