I've kind of just gotten back into 40k from years of absence and have, most likely foolishly decided i want to play dark eldar. I've been hammering away at an armylist and have thus far come up with

Looks alright so far. You're list is leaning in the right direction. Just a few small things that I would consider changing a little bit.

Normally I am not a huge fan of incubi (love the models), but have found them rather lacking compared to the other assault unist. 3-4 grotesques in a raider are always a good way to go. They are very tough, hit hard, can ID enemy's and fightva wider range of enemies. Put night shields on their raider. 

I love trueborn and don't care what some others say about them. Two units in venoms can deal with a wide range of enemies very efficiently.  The only thing I would change with you truborn is to choose what you want them to do. The popular choice being all blasters.  Mixing weapons tends to take away from their efficiency.  Two units with 4 blasters each in Venoms can dish out a lot of pain.  Kabalites are great so good call there.  I don't think they really need blasters, but that is just my preference.  Lots of people love blasters on kabalites. I just prefer keeping them cheap and less threatening so people leave them alone so they are more likely to survive and win you games due to being objective secured. I'd prefer to save the points for other nasty stuff.

I do really enjoy scourges, but found 1 unit with haywire is usually good enough. If you take two units i often find one sitting around with no targets. Amd if you play someone with little armour you will find them lacking. Turning a scourge unit into a razorwings with lances might be a good idea. Extra AA and great AI for the points is well worth it. You won't be disappointed.

I haven't used bikes that often so can't offer much advice there.  The only thing I think I might suggest is choosing between either the heat lances or caltrops. But that probably isn't a huge deal.

I would like to see two ravagers with lances for long ranged AT, but you would have to decide where to get those points from.  Maybe from a scourge and bikes?  

Dark Eldar are an incredibly fun army to playbonce you get the hang of them.  Remember they are not space marines.  Play them aggressively only when required.  Dark Eldar are not great at trading unit for unit. Focus on one thing at a time and don't over commit unless you have to.  Dark Eldar are murderous Aholes and don't fight fair.  Love'em

Thanks! Yeah shaving off the points making the trueborn 4x blaster would make a lot more sense.

I've heard a lot of people say that the Incubi aren't great for what they do, but at least at for now i don't really want to replace them, though that might change later. Cutting a scurge unit for another razorwing is definitely something I could do as well.

The reaversx were kind of a multi purpose unit I suppose, but I mainly wanted them for the cool factor, but that might be pushing it a bit.

I wouldn't change a thing except equipping your archon differently! He isn't going to need the haywire grenade if he's running with the incubi. Gives you 5 points back to mess with.
The soul trap can be great if you find yourself able to fight a bunch of characters, but consider using it with the Agoniser instead. Once you pop your first human or Tau sergeant your 4+ to wound becomes a rerollable 3+. And against marines, you're more likely to cause the 1 wound you need to kill a sergeant. Anyone in an army like that against whom Instant Death is useful is likely to have a mad invulnerable save anyway.

Apart from that, looks great. Lots of venoms is great, lots of darklight is great. Go nuts.

I don't like mixing the blasters with splinter rifles. That's a personal preference, because I like monopurpose units with the same range weapons. Trueborn to AP2, Warriors for splinter shots.

I love incubi too, but I wouldn't put my archon there. They aren't a very good bodyguard for him, especially for combat. People tend to use grotesques (which is undeniably the best choice, especially from the covens supplement) but I like sslyth, they're fluffy and cool, but that's beside the point - you want incubi - i always take 4 and a klaivex in a raider, because they get targeted alot. having a 3+ jink save with nightshields is golden and the extra few inches of movement/disembarkation is definitely on my priority list.

Otherwise, it's a tasty list.
I've been using a huskblade for a while now, and I like it (it also provides substantial psychological advantage because no-one wants their super guy killed due to a roll of 1 on their artificer armour heh heh)

I'd also look at your point costs as there's a few wrong values I see.

List looks really good. Just a couple of points though; as much I like the archon, he's just not that good. If you have to have that 2++, then go for it. But the Succubus with the glaive actually makes more sense with the incubi with the ap2 weapons and all. The Klaivex is actually even better, point for point, but you need an Hq spot to fill. Lastly, don't discount the reavers, 6-9 with caltrops is a great unit. That is all I have, have fun!

Yeah, I get that, but it just feels wrong, somehow not to have an Archon lead the army.


I really wanna bring reavers, but I'll probably bring those if i expand the list a bit.

I've been looking at the grotesques and they do look neat so I've been modifying my list a bit in hopes of adding a few, at the moment it is looking something along the lines of;
