So, this is my army list for my first game with the new codex. I wanted to try out some stuff that I'd not used in a while, seeing as I could fit them in now, as well as some stuff that I've never used before. This is what I ended up with:

1750 points - Realspace Raiders Detachment

Succubus - Armour of Misery, haywire grenades, splinter pistol, archite glaive

Mandrakes - 10 mandrakes

Warriors - 5 warriors in a Venom, extra cannon, blaster

Warriors - 5 warriors in a Venom, extra cannon, blaster

Wyches - 8 wyches in a Raider, dark lance, nightshield, enhanced aethersails, torment grenade launcher. Succubus goes here.

Razorwing Jetfighter - 2 Monoscythe missiles, 2 Necrotoxin missiles, splinter cannon, 2 dark lances, nightshield

Reavers - 3 Reavers, plus champion and 2 heat lance reavers, 2 sets of caltrops

Scourges - five Scourges, four haywire blasters

Scourges - five Scourges, four haywire blasters

Venom with extra cannon

Venom with extra cannon

Ravager - triple disintegrators, nightshield

Ravager - triple lances, nightshield

Ravager - triple lances, nightshield

I have put the list together in the same way I always do, with TAC in mind. I've gone for a healthy mix of AI and AT, and everything is WYSIWYG (hence the extremely tooled up bikes). The one thing that does worry me slightly is that I don't have a great many boots on the ground, but the only way I can think of getting more out of the stuff that I have is to put wracks and hellions in there (potentially fun with the wracks, pointless with the hellions) in place of one of the Ravagers. Anyway, I have my first game with the list on Sunday, probably against a ton of stinky old Plague Marines (and possibly their turncoat guardsmen friends) so any suggestions would be welcome!

I fail to see the point of the haywire grenades. Either give the wych suad one as well, or drop it, I'd say.
I also don't think the armor is worth it - but a lot of people stridently defend the choice. I would say keep the idea in mind and pay attention to how often it ever helps, and then reassess after a few games.

I like this.

Good luck with this.

I would suggest that the Monoscythe is the provably superior weapon and you don't pay for it. I would drop the Necrotoxin to save points. Here's my logic very quickly;

At Str 6, the Monoscythe wounds on a 2+ unless the opponent has T5 or greater.
At Str 6, the Monoscythe scattering onto a vehicle can potentially harm a large number of vehicles.
The Necro is literally, only better than the Monoscythe when fired at multiple models with T5+ (because with less models it's only one hit - and at that point how much is this worth versus simply, say, firing a s.cannon at it)

So what do you expect to fight where the Necrotoxin will do anything at all?
That is why I advocate the Monoscythe.

You seem aware that you have too much stuff on here - you do.

Fine.

Fine.

Remember to stay behind covr to make valid use of the nightshields.
Also, I would note, that considering the amount of poison in your army I don't see much value to the Dissie Ravager.

Why o you think you need 'boots on the ground'?
Vehicles can score as well as anything again, and with you not being CAD your Troops are not as valuable as they might otherwise be.

I'm worried that there don't seem to be many infantry models there as I'm used to fielding - I know the vehicles can score, it's just it seems like there's more of a cushion with more infantry. That's probably just from playing orks though!

I will be picking up another couple of boxes of Reavers to optimise them a bit better. Nine with either three lances OR three caltrops is the way I'm thinking of going. Probably the caltrops.

Necrotoxins are free now. Previously, I was running all Monoscythes or two Monoscythe and two Shatterfields for the extra point of strength. I like to have the chance to wound blobs of high toughness nasties, and in this case against (probably) Plague Marines and Nurgle bikers, I can see them being useful.

I know what you mean regarding the Dissie Ravager, it does seem like it tips the balance of the list more towards AI. I've never fielded it with the Razorwing blasting away too, so if it turns out to be too much I might swap it out. I'm thinking possibly a Cronos.

Yeah, wyches and mandrakes. Somebody has to go with the Succubus, and I'm not terribly happy with how my grot conversions have turned out Embarassed What would you suggest to escort her, out of curiosity? And I just want to try mandrakes, in the hope that they'll be annoying and unshiftable (barring flamers).

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
They remain not particularly worth it.

I will admit that switch out, if in concern of too much AI, makes little sense to me.

Grots.
Wyches are bad.
Incubi are hyper specialized and part of that specialization includes 'not good at what assault is for'
Hellions are wusses now, and pair badly movement wise in any case.
The Court may or may not be a legal choice sans an Archon.
That leaves Grots - and Grots are pretty darn good and also protect the Succubus from pretty much all of her weaknesses, and she boosts them as regards theirs. A match made in heaven (or hell, as the case may be)

Barring flamers, or mild assault capability, I suspect they will accomplish the job of 'standing somewhere' Laughing
