Hi guys,

I'm picking up Dark Eldar as part of an escalation league we're doing at my local gaming club starting in February and our first step will be kill team.

I want to get a head start with painting so I'm trying to bash out some sort of a list now so I can get painting.

I have access to most things after raiding ebay and I'm wondering how best to make up an effective kill team list.

At the moment I've had a couple of thoughts as below:

-------------------------

5 Wyches in Venom
3 Reavers with Blaster // Cluster Caltrops // Arena Champion

-------------------------

9 Reavers with Arena Champion (Power Sword) // 3 Blasters

-------------------------

Other things I was thinking of were Scourges or one big Kabalite Gunboat.

Has anyone had any experience with Kill Team?

What do you think might be effective?

I'm leaning towards the Wyches in Venom and Reavers at the moment as it's less spam like and will look a bit different but I'd like to get some thoughts from people.

Since the new version, not with DE, no. Under the old rules (when you still got pain tokens from each kill) Reavers rocked!

I'd be inclined to go with them still - though I wouldn't neglect caltrops - in a 1-on-1 fight the opportunity to have so many strong hits at I10 can win it for you without even having to strike.

I'll definitely be taking reavers as my next kill team (we have quarterly events at my club for kill team games)

yea the problem was more if I go with caltrops I have to lose some of the blasters.

I can take out the powersword and add one caltrops?

If I drop below 9 reavers I can have 7/8 but then I'm limited to 2 caltrops and 2 blasters.

Would look something like:

7 Reavers total:
Arena Champion with Agoniser
2 x Blaster
2 x Cluster Caltrops
2 standard reavers

OR

9 Reavers total:

2 x Blaster
2 x Cluster Caltrops
1 x Grav Talon (5 pts spare)
4 standard reavers

I'd be inclined to go with the first list - i see why you've taken the grav talon but it has no practical use at all thanks to the reaver's high initiative. On the other hand, the arena champion with agoniser brings 4 attacks on the charge at AP3 (and since kill team doesn't allow av2+...)

The only downside is with only seven models the break point is 2 instead of 3, but i'd opt for extra damage every time.
