Playing a small game against Adeptus Mechanicus tonight, 1250 points. I'm going to try starting everything on the table (bar 2 units) to see how well the army performs without reserves, so just cos I'm insane I'm also considering going second (can't always have the first turn so I might as well try and learn what I can for those games where I have no choice)
Archon, WWP, Armour of Misery, Agoniser, Blast Pistol, Shadowfield
2 Warrior Gunboats, 10 in each, raiders with night shields, splinter racks and torment launchers (dunno if AdMech are fearless, but wrote the list before I knew which army I'm facing)
Razorwing, dissies and 4 monoscythe
6 reavers with 2 blasters, 2 caltrops. Arena champion with agoniser
5 scourges, 4 heat lances and solarite with blast pistol and power lance (archon goes with this unit to make sure 2 blast pistols are in range)
2 dissie ravagers.
This list is basically written to try out a few more options following on from my first test game, and is at a deliberately low points level so there's nowhere to hide for the units, little redundancy, only the ravagers have any kind of backup, and against admech are probably not ideal (don't think there's much serious armour in that army, mainly high toughness)
I'm really curious to see how the scourges do, coupled with an archon and heat lances, along with cc equipment for the solarite I'm interested to see if they can act as a semi-assault type unit - they have plasma grenades, can shoot the heat lances before charging and then the archon and solarite between them should manage to cause a few casualties (I hope).
