Quick question,
If a talos is equipped with a liquifier gun can it shoot both that and it's tail mounted weapon in the same shooting phase?
As they are both mounted on separate appendages I would think they can!

Can anyone shed any light?

Yes.
See BYB page 48: Monstrous Creatures.

Yes it can in the shooting phase but not when it fires over watch. Separate appendages don't have anything to do with it.

So I assume you choose which to fire as over watch?

Could you give the page reference for this?

i was under the impression that RAW they can only shoot both in the 'shooting phase', and thus not over watch

Correct. MC ability to fire two weapons specifies "in the shooting phase". Many people forget/ignore this but that is the RAW position.

i am kinda glad too, as it helps balance the rip-tide and the wraith knight, can you imagine the over watch on the tau monster? Surprised

for most armies(tyranids) i would't mind, as i feel that they could use the boost, but eldar and tau have no such need, so i would want to pay attention to them
