Instead of Iyaden, they should have issued a common supplement (usable by both DE and Craftworld Eldars) regrouping official rules + armylists, in the same book, for:
- Corsairs warband (not sure if it already exists officially) mixing CW + DE
- Harlequins (Full troupe either as an ally or independent army, not only Elite units. Solitaire, Mimes, Great Harlequin... )
- Exodites (nothing wrong with Exodites allying with either Craftworlds or Commorragh)

The supplements contain very little rules content so far (2 pages max). Most of what is being suggested in this topic is well outside that scope. Exodites and Harlequins differ too much from either the DE or Eldar codex to be represented using the current supplement format, and neither of those armies would be able to be accurately represented by 2 pages of rules.

And the Iyanden supplement actually swaps things out the Dark Eldar don't even have! Namely, warlord traits and unique wargear (not just Haemonculi stuff)
So if there was a Dark Eldar supplement, the main codex would need some 6e staples too. It'd end up something like...

Main codex: Kabal forces
Kabal themed Warlord traits
Kabal themed Unique wargear

Supplement: Wych Cults
Cult Warlord table
Cult Unique wargear
Succubus gets the unique Archon retinue option
and something extra, like new drugs

or
Supplement: Coven
Coven Warlord
More Arcane Wargear
Some HQ adjustment like Haemonculi Ancients are now a 0-3 choice and regular haemi's are 0-5

and yes, the Mandrakes get nothing, as usual :p

Yeah I would rather not get any supplements and keep everything in the same book. Besides neither kabal/coven/cult justify their own supplement.

for me personally, I would love to just have battle focus for our warriors too. That would be epic. Also maybe give us a better jink save Wink

The DE take too many drugs to have enough craftworld discipline for battle focus. Maybe something in drug form that relates...?
But the better jink would be nice.

To be honest If I wanted battle focus I would just go play Eldar. Smile

I'm not saying all but, kabalites are not on drugs and Incubi are warriors through and through. If not that give the option for increasing our armor for our kabalites. Maybe a 4+ save lol. but yea jink for paper vehicles would be nice. even just a rule like "skilled rider"

Craftworld Eldar would be perfectly willing to teach the secrets of battle Focus to the dark kin, if they could just get some rapid fire splinter rifles in exchange. They'll give you the leftover shurikats for free!

I'd be hyppy with 3-4 suplements for the whole game. I don't beleive every codex is getting those supplements.

It's good due to the short range of their weapons, but we don't really need it as for the most part. Our short range is their long range...

I'd be happy with an updated Drugs table and Power from Pain.

Ancient Doom is likely something we will get as well...

Would love to see the poison weapons get some sort of debilitating effect on rolls of 6...

Bam. I miss my old jetbike archon and haemonculi. From the 3rd edition book I had six haemis ride around with destructors (now known as liquifiers) and scissorhands, fun little T5 bike unit. The new character design though doesn't really fit for the haemonculi, with them being lazy and lordly and just wanting to float around, but a jetbike archon or succubus would be great.

I can't really imagine what a deldar supplement would be about, though. Most of them are pretty divergent from the main book's character. I guess Shaa'dom? Or some other rival webway city. There's not very much background for it either, whereas Iyanden is pretty old school.

Realistically a dark eldar supplement would probably just contain some new warlord traits, different gear for the haemonculi to take (the only analog to "Remnants of Glory" or "Signature Systems" I can think of), and maybe remove the membership restrictions from the archon's court or some other slight list change similar to the "shadow council" of multiple spiritseers for one HQ choice.

Which is exactly what our whole codex is about honestly. Black Heart Kabal is the major thing in the fluff due to being the supreme overlords kabal and all. Don't think there would be enough material to do a whole supplement on that.

Yea, but the Rumor for the chaos space marine codex supplement is The Black legion which is basically what the new Chaos codex is about. Although it would be nice to have a supplement, I just don't think we are going to get a 6th ed codex anyways.

I'd like a "6th edition" supplement. You know, the one that has things like decent warlord traits we could actually use or usable Mandrakes.

That said when I first heard about the supplement route I couldn't really see how this could be done for DE. After all Vect is king and doesn't really abide anyone that doesn't toe the party line... However after a bit of thought I see how this could work.

Essentially they would need to be cult based. The first two I would target are Mandrakes and Incubi. Mandrakes need a solid reason to be used so changing Kheradruakh so that was an IC and makes Mandrakes scoring. Then tweak the mandrake profile a bit (ie: cause Fear and have an AP2 or AP3 weapon) would work.

Incubi is mainly for story purposes. It would allow them to bring in Arhra while fleshing out the back story a bit. Also it would encourage taking some more close combat oriented units. They already rock but it's hard (at least for me) to justify using them when I can get other units that are as effective at killing big things while scoring.

I'd also love to see Harlequins get their own rules. Maybe they could do a combined DE/E supplement with Harlequins. Provide more story about the BL and how they will help either faction...

I'm all over a mandrake supplement. I personally think a nice little ability for the Mandrakes would be simply allowing them to ignore overwatch (as CSM vehicle upgrade). Making them troops with Khera kira ka... decapitator with this would be all the reason I'd need to call them a competitive counter to tau and guardsmen gun lines.

*cough*

Look at what a Pheonix Lord's stat line and abilities look like.
Check out their defining feature (the ancient armor possessed by their spirit).
Then go read Draz's backstory again.

Haemonculi's Work Supplement - A sinister and dark supplement codex to the Dark Eldar Codex! This book contains all you need to field your own customized (to the very limbs!) army of wracks, grotesques, talos and other monstrosities any Haemonculus can create! The troops is the backbone of your army and is usually made up by wracks. But in a true coven army, your troops can be made out of anything from poor Imperial Guardsmen, unfortunate Tau, our eldar cousins or other exotic critters and creatures. Customize your Talos or Haemonculi with powerful body upgrades with other parts! And for each slain enemy in the battlefield add more parts to further enhance your warriors!

---

A book, with core rules for our current conve units, add in a few more types(typically from other races!), then fill the rest of the book with upgrade choices from other races!

I would love to see any supplement for Dark Eldar. If nothing else just for the expansion of fluff. Coven, Cult, and Kabal are some obvious options. It would be cool to see some for Incubi and Mandrakes as well. I don't think we will get any supplements till after we get another codex though, but who knows.

Natfka over on Faeit 212 posted a rumoured wishlist of supplements. Note that these are supplements the game designers would like to work on. There's a bunch, but none for Dark Eldar.

Oh Thor, always the optimist.

We don't need a supplement, but a Super-Heavy would be nice. Rules in the box à la the new fortifications, and done.

Don't forget that at its essence, this thread is pure wishlisting too. I don't see us getting one until our codex is redone, every supplement so far is for a race with a 6th edition codex.
