PostSubject: Dark Eldar at Warhammer World Pictures   Sun Mar 24 2013, 22:42

I was at Warhammer World this weekend and figured it'd be cool to get some pictures of the studio army. However, it was absent being photographed (which means it will be appearing in White Dwarf or on the website) but some random characters and all of the random kabal models from the Codex galleries were there. Photos from an iPhone so not the best. Smile

... I think I'm going to go revisit my Archon's paintjob.

Must have been really cool to see the Codex paint jobs in person. They are so high quality....

I went a couple of years ago and some of the painting is utterly unbelievable. The Mike McVey diorama of the Emperor v Horus really needs to be seen to be believed. The Emperors armour is simply incredible.

Most interesting thing about that diorama is that it is only painted from the front as he never expected it to be shown from behind or viewed that way.

One model I particularly liked was the Gortesque model, I had never seen it before in real life, it's particularly impressive and quite big.

It's funny to see the real models, you clearly notice Gw used some professionals to take the codex and other pictures. The Ur ghul is almost white (very light grey) when you look at the real deal, while on the finecast picture, it's more like grey.

The colors aren't the same when you look at the real models.

I was particularly impressed with the Agonisers, I discovered how hardcore to do these thing were, when I did them on my beastmasters ><. Took me hours to do, kudos to the Eavy metal team, their work is as always very impressive.

I could stay in the display room for hours, it's just so impressive, so many models to look at for hours.
