PostSubject: Yet another Kabal army   Thu Oct 18 2012, 15:50

Hello there commorragh!! It's my first topic on this forum and i wanted to sho u my mostly kabal 'army'. For now i have:
- 10 Warriors
- 1 Raider
- 5 Hellions
- 5 Scourges
- 1 Archon with no court
So now u can see that's no a big army, not a one u can play with but I think that's a good start.
Let me now what do u think. :d Oh and sorry for pics. I've made them late at night so the light can be not that great.

They're all WIP. C&C very welcome!!

I like the orange highlights a lot! Think I could see this army looking great with some Elder Fire Dragons as allies!
I would say though that having Green and blue as two spot colours doesn't work for me, I would probably drop the green at the least and go for a silver/black wash on the weapons.

This is what I would do personally (using my very limited microsoft paint prowess) sticking to your warm colour scheme:

Think the white gives it a very menacing and cool spot colour (this would also look very nice with some Incubi)

Other than that above, a very nice colour scheme! I look forward to seeing your Kabal grow!

Yeah i agree that support colours aren't very good and i was considering changing them earlier.
So I've decided to drop the green blue mix and go whith white/skin/metal. Most of it is included in he graphic of Grub but i dropped the helmet and left it as it was - black/orange

Well done so far Varred, that's a great colour scheme you have. The contrasting blue on the Raider is really nice, I would suggest doing the green rudder bit to match.

The spare Dissie on the Raider's racks is a nice touch!

So I've painted up some of the Raider hull together with parts of blade and sails. Changed the deck from torquise to white to mach the updated scheme.
Also painted another warrior ( no he's not a sybarite).

I really like your scheme. With a Little Bit of practice you'll get a nice army. A little tip for painting. Thin your paints with water. Especially on the freehands your paint was to thick. Perhaps you'll try it. Thinning the paints improved my painting a lot.

Yeah I realised theat after painting it on, and i don't wanna repaint it. Basically it was my first major freehand and it can be partly because of really old white paint.

Got repainted archon and some quickshots:

oh and by the way thanks for all that consructive criticism and kind comments you gave me. They help a lot but I must apologise you because i am very slow painter . It is mostly caused of that high school business and stuff. lot of learning lots of homework and some days i have no free time at all. By the time i have almost painted up 3 other warriors and done some progress on raider. I hope to get pics tommorow!

PostSubject: Update!!!!   Tue Oct 23 2012, 20:43

Half of the squad painted nad some close-ups on nearly finished scourge, and the begginning of a baron conversion

So here is the heat scorge

And the early wip of a baron

And half of Warriors with their buddy: an Archon

Folks i have a major painting question. How to paint wych suits and agonisers.
Today i was painting my Raider and met my eldar friend. Considering using Fire Dragon converted to fallen CWE as my blasterborn.
Give me your thoughts folks!!
