Seeing the previews of the new space marine stuff itz pretty safe to say that supplemental codex are coming back as it always seems that any new Space Marine releases show the direction gw will be taking with the game ... so what kabal/cult/coven would you like to see as it's own supplemental codex?

I don't see us getting a supplement codex anytime soon to be honest. Drukhari are not a faction that gets shiny new toys from GW. But if hell freezes and we really get some new models then the possible supplements could be Black Heart and Poisoned Tongue, mainly because they get mentioned in the latest fluff the most. But the supplement could also be for a new faction in the dark city, maybe something is coming along with the psychic awakening thing (I think it will be Endless Spells for 40k).

I think we're more likely to see supplements for Kabals, Cults and Covens as a whole than individual ones.

On the topic of the psychic awakening. What. I'm kinda worried that every faction will be affected- both for the good and the bad.

Do we have any other ideas for what it is? How are necrons, tau, deldar, admech -and whatever non-psyker factions I can't think of at the moment- going to be affected by a psyker awakening?

Other than, you know, fighting them.

EDIT: Lol put tyranids under non-psyker factions

From my limited understanding of AoS someone pays to have an endless spell on the field but control of it flits between the players, so it's more like an external force one team can push into the battle rather than it being controlled? I may be way off

I think we're more likely to see hell freeze over than DE get a (meaningful) supplement.

Dark Eldar got a supplement last edition, no reason at all to think we won't get one in 8th when they're apparently planning on pumping out far more. It might take a while but I'd bet that they'll get around to us eventually.

Codex and supplements are "easy" to make. I'm pretty sure we'll have 1. New models, on the other hand.....

They literally can just salvage the Haemonculus Covens book. Take that, add some rules and maybe make a new kit (Start Collecting Covens?).

Right now, I am still giving GW the benefit of the doubt. We might actually get something workable.
Personally, my dream would be a GW Corsair book that works for us and the Craftworlds with some Corsair models and upgrade kits on top. But I am not delusional enough to seriously believe in that.

I would assume that Craftworlds will get something before we do. They are likely to be well ahead of us in the 8.5 edition cycle.

I assume Space Marines will finally be made OP like they are portrayed in fluff and everyone else will be their target practice with various means to try to reach SM.

I dont think we will get anything for a very long time, honestly there are so many others that actually needs the love (Besides the normal space marines that they are getting, including GK's), those marines are going to take at least 6 months to 9 months to be fully released. We are talking about at least 10 supplement books, even if 2-3 are released at the same time, they will still be released 2 months from each other. THEN there is always the chance to get more supplements like Death Company, Flesh Terrors, more Chaos. After or between all of that you have the other armies that needs it more. For example, Necrons. And dont forget we still have 2 beta codex armies right now that needs to be fix (Ynnari and SoB) both are terribly put together and not fun to play (I own a Sob army, rather large one, its a terrible beta i can explain more if you like), finally we have all the specialist units like Sisters of Silence.

But, iff Aeldari was going to get love, it owuld be Quins/CWE first, as they still have problems, CWE model range is 20+ years old and still finecast, Quins are way over costed (Wyches out damages troupes in melee and at the same time has double the wounds, with a 6++/6+++/4++ in melee, they are actually more survivable believe it or not, due to x2 wounds and FnP and Wyches are 5pts cheaper, a Troupe REALLY needs to be 3-4pts cheaper, make it 1-2 points more than a wych b.c of the flat 4++ and +1 attack).

Definitely agree with this. Fingers crossed both Dark Eldar and Harlequins will be getting a points adjustment in this year's Chapter Approved and maybe a specialist detachment or new model (which is basically all that either faction needs), but the next big Eldar update really should go to the Craftworlders because most of their model line is atrocious.

I kind of suspect that Exodites or Croneworld Eldar might make an appearance at some point, too. Probably as a Necromunda or Blackstone add-on but who knows.

can we just get a freaking Vect model? seriously is that too much to ask?
if it was any other company they would have closed down if they had the same business model like GWs new model range (marines-chaos-marines-chaos-marines-chaos-some random xenos-marines-chaos etc).
Cant they just make a split second pause there and give us our leader? i know the answer to that but man this sucks

Honestly I would be soo happy to get the hellions and Jetbikes back for our HQs. Is that too much to ask for? We had it in the olden days. CWE still ahve it, even without a Proper model for everything the can bring up.

I have this dream too.  Very Happy
Or Elite characters like beastmaster that will be something.

But I unsterstood that Flying HQ, transport capacity of 6 or 12, no division in three subfactions** (betweew warhost, Aspect warriors and Spirit host) with 1 HQ for each, no mercenary  without faction bonus, are CW privileges. Sad

* I like Obsessions system. It is a good view of drukharis caste.
But in practice perhaps one obsession imposed on all units by the raid master choice would be more efficeint.
Or not.*

And, even if we have not the most balanced weapons, our army is not so bad.
I think we must do with it, and hope the next "GW little present" will suit us. santa

I don't mind obsessions as an army construction mechanic at all (except the crap ones), I just wish you could pay CPs to grant them to mercs (like Ynnari can give Strength from Death to Incubi).

I also wish our handful of character options didn't require traits/relics to be truly useful for their cost. Speaking of which, will blasters and PGL on Archon suffer the same fate as the Trueborn with the Legends book? From their description, it seems like it will only contain index UNITS which no longer have models or a codex datasheet. Archons and blasters will always have models and codex datasheets, so potentially the wargear options at least will remain.

I fully expect Eldar to be the first to get a Chaos-style 2.0 update dex with the new Exarch and Craftworld rules, and incorporate previous and additional tweaks (like doing the same thing to Alaitoc as they did to Raven Guard's trait). Probably after this phoenix rising stuff, just like they did with Chaos and Vigilus.

Then there is the Sisters release, with accompanying stuff.

Then the next big summer campaign is another Chaos something apparently. We may see an official release of all the Lost and the Damned stuff they've been slowly pumping out through Blackstone Fortress.

Then probably it's the turn of all the trash Xenos that need updates like Tyranids and Necrons.

And of course 37 Primaris Lieutenants.

I've heard a few rumours that no other army is intended to get a 2.0 version Codex in the same way that Marines were, which is both disappointing and not especially surprising. It does mean we're just going to see a huge wave of Marine armies for a while because the Marine supplements seem - even outside of Iron Hands - to definitely be a tier above every other army, and the rules that are in Psychic Awakening so far don't really do anything to resolve that disparity.

Basically... I think we should get used to our army being the way it is for the foreseeable future.
