Kabal, Cult and Harlequins Empty

Messing around with a themed list:

Poison Tongue Battalion
Archon (Huskblade, Splinter Pistol, Soul Seeker) - 76 (Warlord: Soulthirst)
Archon (Venom Blade, Splinter Pistol) - 72
5 Warriors (Blaster) - 47
5 Warriors (Blaster) - 47
5 Warriors (Blaster) - 47
5 Warriors (Blaster) - 47
3 Lhamaeans - 45
Ravager (3x Disintegrator) - 125
Ravager (3x Disintegrator) - 125
Venom (Twin Splinter Rifle) - 65 (Warriors)
Venom (Twin Splinter Rifle) - 65 (Warriors)
Venom (Twin Splinter Rifle) - 65 (Warriors)
Venom (Twin Splinter Rifle) - 65 (Warriors)
Venom (Twin Splinter Rifle) - 65 (Archon, Succubus, Lhamaeans)

Ynnari Harlequin Outrider
Shadowseer (Neuro Disruptor, Gaze of Ynnead, Word of the Phoenix) - 135 (Exalted of Ynnead - Lord of Rebirth)
The Yncarne (Ancestor's Grace, Unbind Souls) - 337
2 Skyweavers (2x Haywire Cannon, 2x Glaive) - 102
2 Skyweavers (2x Haywire Cannon, 2x Glaive) - 102
2 Skyweavers (2x Haywire Cannon, 2x Glaive) - 102

Red Grief Vanguard
Succubus (Glaive, Splinter Pistol, Blood Glaive) - 50
5 Mandrakes - 80
5 Mandrakes - 80
Beast Master - 36
2 Khymerae - 20

2000pts, 8 CPs (After Relics/Strats)

The warlord Archon will probably stick with the Ravagers initially, but will move closer to take pot shots at HQs and such if the opportunity presents itself.

The Shadowseer will probably try to keep up with the Skyweavers initially, to give them the benefit of his aura and (if applicable) heal/resurrect them with Word of the Phoenix. Otherwise, he'll be a source of mortal wounds and might even join in the character-sniping with Gaze. Ideally, he won't put himself in too much danger, as he's a useful support piece.

If my opponent has a lot of vehicles, then the Skyweavers will hang back with the Shadowseer and concentrate on using their Haywire Cannons. Otherwise, they'll go forward and try to bring their Glaives to bear against something - ideally ganging up on a target that's had Unbind Souls cast on it by the Yncarne (with Soulburst that's potentially 18 S4 AP-2 D2 attacks hitting on 2s and rerolling failed wounds).

The second Archon, Succubus and Lhamaeans will go in a venom and fling themselves at a hard, non-vehicle target. The squad is entirely expendable but hopefully it will manage to kill an enemy or two on its way out.

The Mandrakes and Beasts will use their mobility to position themselves in useful locations for the Yncarne to teleport to if they should die.

Yncarne will try to go after big targets, teleporting in my opponent's turn whenever the opportunity arises. He'll usually be casting Ancestor's Grace on himself and either Smite or Unbind Souls (the latter if the Skyweavers or Shadowseer plan to charge something). Obviously I'd prefer to keep him alive but I'm prepared to risk him if it means taking out a Lord of War or such.

Any thoughts?

For semi-comp games, looks good, other than i would rather do RWF's than Khymera's,a nd do at least 3 bases, 2 is just easy kill.

If you wanted to go a bit more... competitive, you'll want the skyweavers in 1 unit for sure, -2 to hit and 3++ every turn is way to good, you can even give them 6+++.

Ah, okay. I should be able to find some spare points for that,

Would it be worth changing the Harlequin detachment to a Patrol? I'd have to take a Harlequin Troup and would lose out on a CP, but this way I could make the Skyweavers into a single unit.

It's honestly worth thinking about using an Auxiliary Support Detachment to run a big unit of Skyweavers. The CP loss obviously hurts, but it's an alternative to a pretty hefty points tax from running a Patrol or Vanguard detachment.

If you have 1 Skyweaver unit you dont need their Shadowseer, it doesnt effect them at all. So just spend the 1CP to take them as an Aux.

If you want the Shadowseer then yeah a Patrol or something else.

I know you want the Yncarne, but you can add that to any other detachment you have, you have HQ slots so you don't lose it.

The meta Quins list is 2x6 Skyweavers and 1 Shadowseer base (2 units with 3++, 1 unit with -2 to be hit, 1 can double move if need too)

Oh, good catch on the Shadowseer's aura not affecting Skyweavers. I hadn't realised it was limited to just infantry models.

At least Word of the Phoenix still works.

The thing is, I really want to keep the Ynnari Shadoswseer as well (otherwise I'd ditch one of my 2 Archons). I realise it makes things much more awkward but I've made a model for it and everything.  Razz

Anyway, I'll switch to a Patrol detachment and run the Skyweavers as a single unit.

Thanks for the advice, guys. Smile
