Well, okay, 3d printed blaster variants
. I didn't want to completely copy the GW blaster, because there are bits of the design I don't like
. I also rather liked the sprockets in the old 3ed blaster (admittedly not much else), so wanted to incorporate them too.
But I think they came out alright. I like the sleeker look, a bit less chunky than the traditional blaster.
(I also made my blasters double barrelled, for MAXIMUM EXTERMINATION!)
Here's a comparison to the GW one, for comparison. I think it is still recognisably a blaster, just... sleek.
And how they come out of the printer: a sprue of 8. Yep, 8. Due to economies of scale, it turns out to be only 10% more expensive to print 8 than to print 1... which works out nicely. Who can have enough blasters?
Anyway, if you want some for yourself you can get some on Shapeways. https://www.shapeways.com/product/F23TWNFWD/shadow-pattern-blaster-8
And if you have a cool idea for 3d-printed accessory, and need someone who can model on a computer to help you realise it... let me know, we might be able to work something out
