Obsidian Rose Warriors to abuse the extra range and strategem to help keep 20 man blob in the fight after they webway in and nuke something. The Archons can run and take shots with the 24" Blaster. Took Flayed Skull Jetfighter to ignore cover/use strategem to attack anything with Fly. Scourges can peel wounds from cover. And hopefully Black Heart regens some CPs rolling.

I made a list that is double battalion but I don't think the CPs are worth having to take Drahzar and black heart warriors. They basically just get fearless/mantle of agony sooner.

I run a very, very, very similar list and have had great success with it.

I think Scourges are pretty soft compared to the rest of the list so just be mindful of their performance over your next crop of games and if they're consistently underdelivering then just drop them for more vehicles.

I would suggest having some darklight in the 20 blob, the S8 AP-4 helps to hedge your bets on a kill when using the Failure Is Not An Option Stratagem (I run 1 Dark Lance, 1 Splinter Cannon, 1 Blaster, 3 Shredders).

IF you can scrounge up the points, an Agoniser on your 20 blob Sybarite and a Huskblade for one of your Obsidian rose Archons can be a cheap but powerful enough boost in melee to swing things your way, and with an Agoniser or Huskblade your solo Archons become a little more self-sufficient and versatile as they're bouncing around.

Yeah, I agree the scourges feel like filler units. I like having some haywire and I have the models so I'll just have to see how they play. I could swap in 2 5 man warriors squads and another raider. That would give 5 points to bump up 2 Archons to Agonizers, or pickup a Huskblade.

I was hoping the shredders would be the ones to use failure is not an option on. Figure if I fail I may fail big. Depending when I drop in, I'll probably safe guard them with the extra Power from Pain strat.

I wouldn't waste a point on Architects of Pain, because I see FINAO as something I very much want to be able to use.

I'll use Hunt From The Shadows if I'm the subject of small arms fire to prevent the unit from getting too bruised, but ultimately I am very okay with taking that morale test and failing it so I can shoot again (another reason I dislike Scourges...they compete with my blob for Hunt From The Shadows).

That's a really good point. I saw FINAO as more of a last resort verses something I want to use. It really does push me from scourges though, I feel like they need a strategem a turn to survive, whether it's FNF or HFTS because if you lose 2 you're loosing a special weapon. Might see what else I can fit there

One of the perks of pure Kabal is that there are so few Stratagems to have to remember, and even without rolling 6s with Labyrinthine Cunning I find I have enough CP to just hit the same Stratagems over and over in the first two turns to protect my units and perk up my damage.

Command Re-Roll, Lightning Fast Reactions, Fire & Fade, Hunt From The Shadows, FINAO, AoV, Masters of the Shadowed Skies, and Torment Grenade...that's pretty much it...

Cruel Deception and Enhanced Aethersails I keep written down as reminders but their use is very situational for me (but very powerful when used). Prizes from the Dark City can shore up psychic defense or net me a Djinn Blade or Animus Vitae depending on the match up as well...I don't usually use Prizes, but yes I think the ability to deal Mortal Wounds is good enough to justify 1CP on Animus.

Pumping CP into damage output and defense has been pretty great so far...I find I'm spending my CP way faster than my opponents are and for smaller incremental gains, but that's usually because they don't fully realize that I'm trying to cinch the win in the early game. People who cry foul about Drukhari need to learn this lesson.

Icfr I like that list and I run something similar with more raiders but you actually can't run dedicated transports in an air wing. Only the "normal" detachments can.

Oh wow, I see that now...the Air Wing and Super Heavy Detachments don't have room for Dedicated Transports!

Guess the debate over whether to run the Venoms as Flayed Skull or Black Heart is over Razz thank you for pointing that out to me! Razz

@lcfr I like that list. I'm digging the Voidravens. How are you finding them? I'm curious about the Ravager Loadouts too. I get it from a sense of not wanting to take a pure dark Lance's Ravager to avoid it getting focused but why take the Lance's over straight Dissis?

Voidravens are incredible, they just help crank out so much hurt on Turn 1 with the Void Mine. I get that Razorwings are always a little cheaper but I never leave home without an Air Wing including at least one Voidraven. The Void Mine is solid and efficient and when your opponent knows what it's capable of they are forced to either play around it, deal with the Voidraven, or squeeze their eyes shut and hope for 1s and 2s. Mortal Wounds are the best.

Why put a Dark Lance on a Ravager? I'm a bit of a contrarian, but mostly I just wanted some more reliable Dark Lances....6" 1s To Hit and Wound bubble should be enjoyed by not just the anti-infantry but the anti-tank darklight.

I know that statistically a Disintegrator is technically more efficient for its points at dealing wounds to vehicles, but that's not what I pack Disintegrators for, and in practice I find massed D6 damage (with a Command Re-Roll) far more reliable for removing vehicles than wounding on 5s and causing only 2 Damage.

Usually a Dark Lance To Hit and To Wound roll is failing on only 1s or 2s, so the Warlord basically improves my tank hunting, and for 15pts more I am quite content to surrender 9 Dissie shots for what will very likely be at least 2D6 in damage against a vehicle, with the option for a Command Re-Roll. If I was running a Doomseer it might be a different story, but a Ravager in this set-up is my most reliable shooter, I don't see why I wouldn't put my most reliable anti-tank weapon on it.

Yeah, I definitely see the point of them now, having that extra reliability seems worth it for sure. Especially to add some extra punch.

I'm really tempted to take Voidravens, I ran them in 5th before the model came out. Which weapon have you liked more. I feel like the Void Lance's are probably best focusing T8 targets, and the range on them keeps them safer. But Dark scythes do more when they get in.

I think a couple Flayed Skull Voidravens getting at least 1 turn of Archon rerolls and then the FS strategem can definitely secure some air superiority.

I run both Razorwings with Dark Lances, and each Voidraven with a different set of weapons: Lanceraven always comes with Missiles, and I try and scratch my head for a way to get Missiles on Scytheraven too (even if it's not as essential).

I prefer the Dark Scythes more, if I had to choose one weapon: their rate of fire makes up for the lack of D6 Damage and if they need to be plugging Infantry (ideally multiwound) or Bikes they're better versed for it than if they had Void Lances. A Voidraven with just 2 Void Lances is too easy to ignore in some match-ups, especially if it has already dropped its Void Mine, and I don't fancy 155pts for what is mostly just 2 Dark Lances after Turn 1/2. The Missiles help improve Lanceraven's threat potential.

The more souped up the Flyers are the more they can take advantage of the Flayed Skull Obsession....Ignores Cover is way better on a Splinter Cannon or -1AP Shatterfield Missiles than a Dark Lance Razz

I'm still playtesting the best way to play an Air Wing in an army that already has Black Heart covered, and the jury is hung so far...but the fully souped up (Missiles & Splinter Cannons) 640pt Flayed Skull Air Wing is my favorite so far...the Flyers are already really difficult to kill, and when they can add to your kill clock by having specialist weapons for any occasion and all enemies they are really painful for your opponent to deal with, and they can get right into the thick of enemy lines and make maneuvering difficult as well. It's like a shock & awe bombing strafe while the Ravagers and Venoms drift and buzz behind them to pick off the survivors and tighten the noose.

Yes, 6+++ is good, but they are pretty durable even without it and I find being able to Ignore Cover with the Missiles and Splinter Cannons is really strong. Forcing Marines in cover to roll 3+ against Poisoned wounds when they expected a 2+ tastes great.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Splinter Cannons may be worth it on two Razorwings with Flayed skull, just because of the ignore cover and rerolls. This was the best I could get with kully kitted Flyers and Cannons on Venoms. Wish I could get 15 points for the extra Dark Lance on the Ravagers.

I scribbled a variant exactly like this, swapping a Venom out for one Raider.

The sole difference is I've got one less squad of 5 Kabalites and that 47pts is washed around in a Lance for each Ravager, Blast Pistol for the Warlord, a Dark Lance and Blaster in the bomb squad.

There's a Venom empty but it means it reduces my drops by three by having a deployment home for the Archons, one Venom is not hard to hide (12 total drops...4 transports, 4 flyers, 3 Ravagers, 1 blob).

Have you tried out the shredder bomb yet? I have been debating shredders as they are a very solid weapon. I want to try them with obsidian rose. Or on scourges. I am debating on taking 3 scourge units. Either 1 unit with haywire and 2 with shredders or 2 haywire and 1 shredder

@colinsherlow I haven't used it with warriors yet, just scourges. I'm a fan of units doing ine thing really well instead of doing 2 things decently when it comes to loadouts. If I want to mix up scourge shooting I'll usually take 2, 1 that is full haywire and one that is shredders.

But yeah, shredders are very accurately named. They are built to wreck units like cultists and other T3s. Wounding on 2s with rerolls almost means that anything you hit you kill unless they're in cover and even then, pretty close.
