So, with the new Haywire cannon being 8pts, but they are now D3 shots

Assuming no re-rolls of any kind, vs a RHINO

4d3 on average will be 8 shots, average 5.334 hits, average 2.667 wounds, but b.c 2 of them are 4+ it does 2 more MW's, giving us on average 5.334 wounds

4 Blasters or DL's will equal 6.24 wounds.

So its slightly less than 1 wound difference, BUT at a large point difference, 8pts vs 17pts/20pts

With Scourges being 20pts for the weapon and them (if i heard the video correctly and they are 12pts now), a unit is now 92pts. vs 128pts

So for Anti-Vehicle only, 36pts difference for 1 wound difference, take it as you will. Just showing the math.

AND this works against T9+, against Quantum Shielding, against Invulnerable saves...

A very valid option indeed.

I didnt think of that.

I think i'll be using 1 unit for sure, its pretty cheap to force wounds against Invul vehicles (Knights, Necrons, Aeldari etc..)

Against what T did you calculate your blaster damage ? 8 or less ?

The advantage of haywire is the universality. Nothing can protect you against it, it's a constant damage output.

And it has a bigger range than the blaster.

So against T8 or 2+ saves, Haywire are even more of an option.

Yes, its 3.88 wounds from Blasters/Lances vs T8 2++, but the HWC does 1 less normal wound also, making it something like .86? more wounds (trying to do the math fast in my head)
