Time to realize that nobody gives a flying damn about us, more likely.

Yeah...ever the realist (I'm sure many would say pessimist...), I highly doubt GW is planning anything for us. There will be some stupid joke at DE players' expense (assuming our pre-order is on April 1), then it is business as usual.

GW will pump out four more imperium models, we will still have nothing to write home about in terms of HQs...the world keeps on spin'n.

It's amazing how the announcment from the regimental standard is basically saying what 60% are already thinking "All eldars are the exactly the same. 2 eldar codices are coming, but we don't really know the difference between those".

We will be a release similar to Tau and Necrons I would think. No new minis. It will be points changes, maybe some star changes, fleshed out relics and warlord traits and stratagems.

I'm okay with this. It should keep us in the game with codex factions I would hope. As soon as necrons are done with their reveals or maybe even right before we will start to get details.

Necrons have a new mini. They are in a boxed game.

Call me an optimistic fool, but I was thinking there was a chance we'd get a wave of made to order models to help bolster our monopose HQ section.

I thought something very similar when I saw it. I could hear the GW marketing team making the case that "Hey! They're all so similar! So easy to mix-and-match!" Aaaaand that's how they push the Ynnari agenda (i.e. my nightmare).

Well ... The regimental standard is basically a news letter in the form of an imperial memorandum to the gaurdsmen and to them all the aeldari are basically the same :/ but that really doesn't make it much better ...

It's always been part of the lore that the Imperium can't tell the difference between different sorts of Eldar.

Personally, I use that to set up either "humans are idiots" jokes or "all humans look the same" jokes, depending on my mood.

i would like our codices to get more alike, but in a way that fits the dark eldar
our flyers, hqs and transports cost only slightly less, but are weaker, slower and put out less damage, the comparison of the RWJ and the crimson hunter is especially annoying, as he cost 5 points more (or is cheaper if you opt for the splinter rifle), has more Str8 shots, hits on 3+,has 12 instead of 10 wounds, has a 3+ save and can turn 90° two times

Everytime they post something online, it's told from an Imperium POV. No wonder 80% of the models sold are space-marines, the entire game is shown through their perspective.

Well we can at least hope that the RWJF will get a pts reduction to make it more equal to the crimson hunter, or a buff isn't out of the realm of possibility. There are other dark eldar units that really need a rework of their abilities/stats much more though, like most of the cult/coven units.

Yeah, the RWJF is one of the best unit in the index, so it probably won't get buffed ^^

Remind me why our fliers are less maneuverable than CWE fliers in exchange for a useless (and I do mean useless) higher max speed?

In all seriousness, did anyone EVER get an advantage out of Supersonic last edition or our extra 12" max move this edition? Not to mention that Tau get a titanic flier which is faster than the Razorwing, but still the difference between 60" max move and 72" max move is, in practical terms, nonexistent.

72" sometimes matters for the Voidraven being able to drop the bomb without having to advance. Still massively less useful than the CWE version.

on a standard 6' by 4' table, the longest distance it is possible to move is about 7.2', or 86". 60" move with 36" weapons has a threat range of 96", a full 10" more than the most it is possible to need on a standard table.

Adding 12" on top of that is not a real advantage.

And if you moved 86" (diagonal corner to corner) a 90° turn won't keep you on the board next turn.

Yup. Can someone do the math and work out the maximum distance one can move and still be able to stay on the board with a single 90 degree turn and minimum move next turn?

Well I only play apocalypse games, so the extra 12" is really adva...

No, I can't keep a straight face. It really is useless.

I have once had the extra movement useful, where I went from hard on one short edge to the opposite short edge. With a Voidraven being about 9" long that means a move of 63". Without doing the math exactly, I would imagine is 66-68" move is possible without having to leave the table the next turn.

I'm not saying it is commonly useful, but in terms of your 'has anyone ever got anything out of the extra movement' question: the answer is yes.

commonly useul would be to turn, (advance 20"), drop your bombs, turn again to avoid crash and brun and so on
