Also, what is your ossefactor interpretation?

Must be something like : The mortal wound on a 4+ each time a model dies also gets triggered by models slain by a mortal wound inflicted this way (to infinity and beyond).

Ossefactors are Dark Eldar medical instruments, that are used by Haemonculi to manipulate their clients' bone growth. The devices have also been pressed into military service and are wielded by Haemnoculi and Wracks with deadly results. One blast from the weapon sees the victim undergo uncontrollable bone growth, with their skeleton suddenly sprouting spurs and spears that slay them instantly – and may even impale their brothers-in-arms.

The wording of the official rules may be written poorly, but it is deceiving and I’d consider it cheating to use the weapon where you can get enough mortal wounds to wipe out a unit. GW either needs to change the wording or make the gun better.

We may play a scheming/deceiving army, but we’re still players of a game. Show good sportsmanship

I love ossefactors because I get to say, "Bonesplosion!" when the target bonesplodes. My Commorites do not leave home without them.

I would not try to play them with the chain reacting mortal wounds without clarification that they're supposed to work like that.

Personally, I'd really like it if they made hex rifles worth talking again. I think the lore about them is wonderful.

One may argue that when a bone spear pierce another person, there is a chance the bone growing reaction is transmitted to the new subject.

When has the Hex rifle ever been worth taking?

Honestly, the gun itself is pretty decent, it's just a shame we cant fully equip a squad with them to form a proper sniper unit and get the best out of them.

Hey, dat pretay gud

I'm glad the rumours say that it's getting buffed but this is literally just bringing the Haemonculus in line with every other non-special Eldar character. Even Warlocks get a 4++.

Yeah, but if you add a 5+++ after, it gets better

That's the point. The way I play is fluffy, follows the lore of the weapon, is the most direct application of the rules as written, and is far from being broken. It's strong, amusing, and hilarious, but there are far more broken weapons in the game, and nobody bats an eye about them. It's almost as if Dark Eldar having a strong weapon with a powerful rule was some kind of heresy.

In a game where the meta has been dominated by souplists, armies spamming planes, birds, scatbikes and conscripts to a point where sportsmanship and fluff are nothing more than vague concepts, I always find amusing that people criticize what i'm doing with ossefactors. I took a weapon that had a powerful rule, and an awesome concept, and I'm playing it the way it is written (which is also the way it is supposed to work in the lore). That must be cheating.

Threat in which i explained my interpretation some months ago (it's locked though, cause some people can't discuss rules without going mental and insulting) :

My elite imperial guard commanders (the scions) do not have a 5++ save, while the worst commanders (platoon commanders, who are not HQ but elite) do have a 5++ save.

It is just weird how they handle those ++ saves, sometimes it feels like armies have no real thought behind them because multiple people wrote and tested different units.

Same with Drazhar. Every other comparable character does D3 damage in CC and has a 4++. Not our guy. D1 5++...

Or perhaps the bone spear impales Guardsman Trev and Guardsman Bob didn't see it coming until it was sticking through Trev!

Rules wise, it's in marginal territory without a clear ruling either way. I'm inclined to say let it happen, mostly because it's amusing.

I hope they made our codex able to stand on its own in tournaments without requiring battle brothers.

I was told by someone (a tester that plays dark Eldar) who wasnt allowed to tell anyone rules that they are going to be really good.

Hope its true.

Haven't seen that anywhere, and I've read every article multiple times over the past few days..I think the news about trueborn won't come out until we see the codex.
