 Special characters missing in action

We have a ton (a metric s**t load) of special characters that aren't in our index , and definitely won't be in our codex because they gw don't like them or they don't have a model. But, why is that?

Is there another faction that suffers from this as badly as us?
My retorical answer to this is, no there really isn't.

We had a model for vect, and yes it is out of print but there is a model and yet there are no rules for it. Unlike the bone singer.
Same with kruela de ville, who I admit was horrible, but there was a model (I bought both lileth sculpts rather than jokecharacter mcJokeface deville).
This lack of special character love scares me in the face of the new Dex, as is there a codex yet whose generic characters have made a case to never change include the special characters?

Archons, what are your thoughts? is this going to hurt us?

I thinkn8thnedition is very character heavy, meaning they are an essential part of an army. The abilities and auras offered by more and more special characters (incouding the ridiculous Primarch buffs) are what is making many armies. If we lack any, if we lack even a special Archon character with the sort of buffs other armies have access to, I think it will harm in the long run.

This is something that annoys me. I would like to point out one example. There is an Ork character in the FW Xenos book that has rules but no model, ever to my knowledge. So why not us? Sad

I'm ever hopeful they will do a campaign or box set where Vect rallies the houses of commorragh to take the parts occupied by the thousand son's. Would be a good way to get our characters back and introduce rules for the different Kabals, Cults and Covens.

Thats Forgeworld though. GW never consider that to "count" properly.

We need all our character options to pull their weight, both with buffs and combat. Our minor characters like the court really need to fill the void for buffing other units. Stuff like lieutenants, warlocks, commissars, priests, and exalted champions fill the role of cheap characters that aid nearby units.

Of course, the fact that we only buff other members of each subfaction at the moment either needs to end, or to be used to enhance our buffs due to their exclusivity.

Funny enough, while i would love more chars, I kinda like the we dont have a billion chars. It makes us stand out from rest of the factions.
What is annoying tho is we cant really custom our own HQs. Being able to pick 2-3 auras on our HQ, scourges wings, bikes and so on, would be awesome, and remove the need for special characters. I would take that over Vect any day really.

Yes. Options would be wonderful.
Competence would be nice too.

It annoys me that we won't have a special character archon. Our main type
Of hq has no special version in our codex. What is this!
In 8th edition, which is only second to 2nd in being hero hammer centric we are losing special characters than gaining them.

I do like the idea of a later release of vect along with his model. That would be pretty awesome.
The DE triumvirate of malys vect and kreulidiqppuiplqqqdrach (the decapitator) would Leave me salivating
