What I expect:

Wych cult units get a small buff or price decrease.
Coven monsters get a price drop
Special weapons will see some price drops.

We get some of our speed by using stratagems.


What we need is about double the price drops that they give us.
Different vehicle pricing dependent on who is in it.
Overhoul of wych cult units
Slight boost to coven units.
Huge boost to speed when advancing, let's of stratagems that help us ignore the negative aspect of advancing.

We deserve better but I will settle for point adjustments and fixing our garbage weapons. Seriously if you want to have a laugh just compare the cost and profile of the laser lance to the husk blade... Thats not even the worst of it either. It is crazy to me that our hand to hand weapons don't do more damage then 1 and the very rare 2...

Oh and BTW blasters either need to do a flat 3 damage or do a d6, again, just compare a blaster and its cost to a melta gun or fusion gun etc etc... GW needs to realize the models carrying our weapons are wet tissue paper so they NEED to wreck face on the offensive.

If blasters were a straight 2 (one-shotting termies), they would be much better

That is still weak for the cost and rate of fire. Make them 2 damage and assault 2 and I am right there next to you.

I would rather see crap of our weapons become rapid fire.
With those 18 inch it means no instant win by deep strike, but when we get in rapid fire range we will wreck face. Do we fail to kill them, then we suffer horibly in turn.

Talos needs a S +2 or even x2, AP-2 to -4, Damage 3 to d6 weapon to let it fill the monster melee role. As is, it is laughably bad against other monsters or vehicles, while not being cost effective against hordes. That leaves them with elite killing melee as their primary role. One in which they are soundly outclassed by Incubi, and even beaten by Hellions against multi-wound elites.

I agree. All the games I have played with my talos have been absolutely woeful. They struggle against Space Marine infantry, tanks, pretty much everything. Gone are the fear inducing monsters they used to be. My opponents laugh and leave them alone, as they know they can do sweet FA

I'd love a useful cronos.  Close combat is the one place an aura buff works for us, as we are finally out of our transports, and a cronos could deliver great synergy between our different units. Plus the idea of a hulking moving torture device sowing fear and discord in the enemies lines is so fluffy!

Also I don't own one and would love the excuse...

Edit: and my guess for what will be buffed? Everything. Absolutely everything. Even if the rwjf stays the same, it'll have a stratagem or synergy that will slightly buff it

I wonder if the release of the Daughters of Khaine AOS book shortly before the Drukhari ruleset drops could indicate that the releases will play off one another in some way?

For example, if GW gives Bloodbrides better / fun rules, it presumably might encourage their use in play. Players might then turn to AOS models (like sisters of slaughter) for a distinct presence on the battlefield.




At any rate, I like the idea that the AOS news could suggest some sort of improvement for Wych Cults, even though they're my least favorite DE faction. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that I hope I get an excuse to kitbash this into a DE army, rather than having to start up tyrannids or chaos daemons:




And won't this make for a fun HQ?

I am now imagining a stupidly $$ expensive army containing dozens of outsize Medusae, with that first model being a counts-as.

That second one is a winged archon, just look at those potato legs, ramrod straight and completely non-dynamic.

It's a perfect match for the current plastic kit.

I wish we could just assume AoS getting a fully updated wytch faction would mean something for our own codex, but I rather doubt it. Certainly nothing wrong with using these new models for kit bashes, but rules wise the codex is either going to make wytches good because it's a well balanced codex, or it will fall short. Won't have anything to do with daughters of Khaine.

-I really would like to see that we can have a full Wych unit (with three Special weapons) and an HQ in one raider, BB are already overly expensive as are the Trueborn.
-I need cheaper HQs! I don't want to add these CWE cheapies in my army anymore!
-Reavers need to be cheaper or slightly better, their damage output is ridiculously low
-Hellions are slightly expensive, they look nice on paper but lack AP
-something like jink would be welcomed
-something effective against psykers
-Heatlances are too expensivee or need something against vehicles
-Blasters need some improvement
-as .s.o mentioned above we have a damage problem in CC,
-More general HQ buffs, Archon's sucks, Drazhar's suck
-Vehicles are too expensive - I really flood the enemy with infantry and that helps me win.
-Splinter cannons need more shots or massive cost reduction, I'd like it at assault 6 for 15points (compare with the SM assault cannon)
-A dark eldar fast strike detachment with up to 9 fast attack units
-At least one fast flying HQ, best would be general option to give Succubus and Archon jetbike and Hellion or Wings
- I want an option to deep strike my entire amry
Interesting note: the new Morathi looks like an old Conversion I made with the first (probably) Morathi model back in the days where I attached some dragon wings to emulate a skyboard.

I partly agree on this, on the other hand they have shown quite a bit that things that were implemented in AoS were afterwards also incorporated in 40k. When it was still Warhammer instead of AoS and Warhammer 40k the differences between the two systems were using the same statistics but otherwise they were completely different. Now they have slightly different way of showing stats but the rules themselves are very similar. Which also means that rules from a similar faction in both games can be rather similar.

Hello all, long time lurker here. I'm trying to be realistic about what kind of buffs to expect in the up-coming Codex. Rapid fire blasters is just not going to happen unfortunately. Something more realistic for blasters is: blasters within half range do D6 dmg rather than D3. That or a flat decrease in points.

Buffs I would like to see, that I think would be realistic are:
1) Blasters do D6 dmg within half range
2) Blast pistols doing D6 dmg within half range
3) Huskblade is +1 str
4) Venoms transport capacity 6
5) Raiders transport capacity 12
6) Raiders get splinter wracks (points increase for this upgrade)
7) Blood brides get 4x hydra gauntlets or razor flails per unit of 5
8 ) Pain Engines getting strength bonuses for CC weapons
9) Everything can use Webway portal except for flyers
10) Drazhar generating fear, Aura: all incubi within 6 inches generating fear (stacks with PfP). Incubi get +1 attack within 6 inches of Drazhar
11) Wych cults can have up to 2 drugs per unit (cannot be the same drug), this comes with an increase in points
12) No restriction on replicating drugs, for instance you could have two Wych Units, both with Grave Lotus
13) Succubus gets 5 attacks base. If she gets Grave Lotus, this negates Archite Glave penalty
14) Lelith gets 6 attacks base
15) Haemonculi gives 6+fnp bonus within 6 inches, stacks with PfP
16) Splinter weapons, hitting on 6's, wound on 2+ with -1AP
17) Give Scourges some sort of stabiliser (cost increase) so that they don't suffer a penalty for moving and firing
18) All Reavers get access to grav talons or cluster caltrops
19) Kymerea get 2 wounds each

Maybe some of my suggestions are slightly unrealistic but i think these are buffs that would be powerful without being broken, and easy enough to implement. There would be a lot of nice combo's you could use with existing wargear/abilities.

Blasters should be Assault 2. Their point is not shooting tanks, but killing TEQ/MEQ.
Just make a boat of Blasterborn and make marines weep.

Incidentally, that would make them a not-bad anti-tank choice, if needed for that in a pinch.

It would make a lot of sense to make blasters assault 2.

- Dark lances : twice the range, almost twice the damage, but assault on non-vehicles. Perfect for heavy duty at long range.

- Blasters : half the range, half the damage, but twice the shots and no penalty for moving. Perfect for anti-TEQ, and occasionaly something bigger.


Trueborns will probably get a stratagel to reroll to hit or something like that, so i guess blasterborns might be buffed a bit.

Urien: He couldn't hurt a fly he's so weak. I would give him the macro-scalpel but call it a micro-scalpel and beef up the one on the Talos, Injector becomes 2+ 1MW, 4+ D3, 6+ 3, no re-roll, -1 to hit. He also gets 5 attacks. Then make his once per game shooting attack stronger. Then I would change the aura to -1 to incoming wound rolls and give covens +1 to FnP across the board.

Drazhar. Before we go any further, go look at the Emperor's Champion. He is a better Drazhar for half the cost. So he needs to come way down in price. I would then give him 5 attacks, D3 damage, and a 4++. That just brings him in line with other CC characters. I would actually keep his special rules the same, including his aura, because I would then give him and all Incubi the following rule: "Hit rolls of a 6+ cause a mortal wound in addition to other damage." Now the aura conflict is solved and Incubi become more effective and Very scary. It also helps with the Klaives/Demiklaive issues.

Succubus: she's pretty good, but maybe the glaive becomes 2 damage, or +1 damage on the charge.

Wyches. 5/6++ from shooting, 4++ in combat. +1 to no escape if the Wyches outnumber their opponents. Poison 4+ upgrade available for all models.

Blood Brides, same as above but hits of a 6+ grant an extra attack. and more specialist weapons.

Gotesques: get the old poison rule back and go up to 4-5 wounds. Also old mutation table in covens detachment.

Reavers: 20" movement, 10" advance. Caltrops give you D6 hits for a MW on a 5+ on the way in. Grav Talons give you D6 on a 4+ on the way out.

Scourges: 16" movement -1 to hit them when firing weapons at more that half their range.

Talos: Macro Scalpel becomes Sx2, AP-3 3 Damage. Flails become 3 attacks per attack. Injector is Same as above.

Cronos: S4 on its guns. Melee weapon -2AP. Aura: +1 to wound rolls within 6". Every time an enemy model within 6" suffers a wound, roll a dice. On a 6+ a friendly model within 6" regains a wound.

Archon: 5+ CP recovery, Aura: re-roll hits and wounds of 1. Shadowfield, last till the end of the phase. Jetbike, Skyboard, and combat drugs upgrades.

Archon Only Warlord Train: you may add or subtract 1 to all game rolls you make before the first battle round.

Weapons:
Liquifier Gun: Either S4 or make it cheaper.

Haywire Blaster: Assault 3

Heat Lance: Double the strength at half range.

Splinter Cannon: Rapid 4, AP-1. 12 Points

Shredder: 18" Range, Assault D6, -1 AP

Dark Lance: On Vehicles and Scourges the weapon becomes assault, however you can reroll hits of 1 if you remain stationary.

Disintegrators cost the same as DL, or even cheaper.

Void Bomb, 15 points.

Vehicles:
Add 4" to all movement, and all get 50% auto advance. We need to be the fastest army.

Raider: Capacity 12, Splinter Racks, just like 7th, and embarked units can fire overwatch.

Venom: Capacity 6.

Then we just need some cool Relics and stratagems, like vehicle web ways, and a stratagem to allow disembarkation after moving.

I don't expect most of this to happen, its pretty out there, but it was fun to think up.

I don't think it's pretty out there at all, you haven't buffed anything already strong, just brought everything else in line.

Although you missed hellions getting either a higher movement speed or some kind of hard to hit to help them get into combat/not get blown up on the way

Hell yes! I don't want psychic offence, but I really want a way to protect against enemy psykers. I got rinsed with 26 mortal wounds in a single turn in my last game vs Tyranids from smite spam and psychic scream. It's ridiculous.
