Hey all,

random question for the veteran painters out there. What do you do to take care of your brushes?

i.e., you're finished your painting session, do you clean with thinner? with water? with soap and water?

any other brush maintenance tips?

I recommend getting some of this stuff:

I use that to clean up each brush after I have finished the session.

It is a really good product for making sure you get the paint out of the bristles, as with just water a lot of paint will remain in the bristles.

For a proper brush care guide, try this:

Got the same brand (the master) but as a green soap.

It really helps removing the last bits of paint (acting like a soap) from the bristle, and you can also gently rattle it tu be really sure there are no more paint in.

Also if I remember it has some components that helps preserve the quality of the tip, and also the glue that keep it nice and thin. In practice, using it for ~3 months now my brush lifespan has triple ^^. Tips stays firm longer, do not fork anymore, and smells like chlorophyll *-*

Life changer if you have a low budget and like to paint tiny details.
