 First time Drukhari/Harlequins

PostSubject: First time Drukhari/Harlequins   Sun Aug 27 2017, 04:50

Hey guys, looking for some feedback on my current setup. It's a bit mix and match, but trying to make the best of what i have to for my first 1k point battle against Blood Angels. Other units i have not in this list are: (1x) Raider, (5x) Hellions, (3x) Reaver Jetbikes. My plan was to place the (10x) Kabalite Warrios in the Raider and the Shadowseer & (5x) Troupes in the Starweaver. Archon & (5x) Kabalite Trueborn would be together on the ground

Just a few ideas that might help out:

Dropping the fusion Pistols.

Changing the Archon out for a Troupe Master.

Change the Shredders for Blasters.

Mandrakes?

Considering you have a spare Raider in your army, this plan curls my toes.
Let's just consider this - you have a heavy weapon and basically two flamers in a squad, and you're going to footslog them around with an HQ who is basically an assault option to...do...what?
For what you're paying for the Trueborn you could buy a Raider for a highly mobile dissie and be better at killing both infantry and mech and save yourself some points, and you could even have the Archon ride around shouting encouragement to his men at least and maybe joining in on Harlie assaults or something.

This is an okay build, but he should be trying to get into assault if this is what you are doing with him, and in your current army build that means he should have a vehicle so he can follow the Harlies into battle.

As an alternative you could hook him up with a Blaster and have him hang back as a shooting threat, or maybe go blast pistol to combo even better with the Harlies (not that I think they need firepower support)

I would tend to drop the Dark Lance in favor of a Blaster so they can ride around in the boat and shoot with 3+ all the timewithout needing to stop moving.

I think this squad is not optimal (the Shredder is an iffy weapon) and not a good footslogging option either. Other thoughts are discussed above on them.

Very pricey, be mindful of not sticking these guys out too far as you'll feel every loss.

Overall I just worry about the mobilty/functionality of the Trueborn and the Archon - the rest of the army is pretty fast, mobile, and hard hitting, those two units stick out as not flowing with the rest of the build.

Quick solutions that I would do are to maybe trim down Warriors, turn the Trueborn into Warriors, give each squad a Blaster and no other upgrades, and slap them each in a Raider with either a lance or dissie which will turn them into a fast shooting component to aid your fast assault Harlie component.
