Great, more looseleaf I have to tape to my book. This is obviously well playtested and balanced.

Early and aggressive patching is the most important and fundamental step to creating a lasting and successful game. With any luck they'll keep this up.

Also, adding to the items of note for DE.

- Necrotoxin Missiles went from 6 shots to d6 shots.

- Haemonculus Crucibles of Malediction work on a per-unit basis, not per-model. No more slaughtering entire units of Grey Knights instantly for us. At least, not with the Crucible.

Necrotoxin Missiles going from 6 shots to d6 shots. Is that enough to put people off using the flyers? Seems like it's just made Ravagers an even better choice.

It's not too surprising that the Necrotoxin Missiles were a typo.

That's how I figured that the crucible worked anyway - granted, I have not played vs. Grey Knights yet in 8th, so this situation never came up.

Yeah I love the necrotoxin missiles as assault 6.

I will still take the Razorwing Jetfighters as they are still really good. Just not as good at AI killing now. Which is unfortunate

I am surprised, because without that Assault 6 I cannot see why I would take them anymore.

Unless you face some hypothetical T8 monster (read non-vehicle) without saves, Shatterfield Missiles will always be better.
A 3+ with rerolls is almost as good as a 2+ and the -1ap is massive.

I dont think I ever used Necrotoxin really. But it might have been due having RWJs go after other type of targets.

He's certainly a viable TT option now, though.

Man, 14 pts on Razorwings is a hard kick in the nuts.

Well, now I've got to figure out how to alter my tournament list. Oh, bother. 14 pts/base for Razorwing Flocks seems pretty brutal.

It's beyond brutal, it's Macho Man Randy Savage and the birds are Hulk Hogan.

I'm still keeping them for morons who want to play with power points though.

Assault 6 Necrotoxin missiles were good because they were reliable. That was the main thing going for them. ST 7 and shred means that against any T6 or below targets you have a better chance to wound, and -1 AP is clearly better than 0. Plus Shattershard missiles can be used rather well against most vehicles too. I can only see necrotoxin missiles being used against T7+ monstrous creatures now, rather than being a competitive choice due to reliability.

Even against T7 stuff Shatterfields will often be better as they usually come with a decent save too.
And even at T8 you still have a 77% wound chance with the Shatterfield Missiles (opposed to 83% from Necrotoxins).

It's not like Necrotoxin Missiles were that amazing to begin with.

Any thoughts about the fact that Ynnari lists now have to include one of the 3 Ynnari characters?

I think it's a bit stupid that every battle in the universe that involves Ynnari forces features one of their top 3 guys. That would almost be as absurd as every Ultramarine force being led by their Primarch!

Oh...

Well I honestly think the necrotoxin going from assualt 6 to assualt d6 was simply them correcting a typo :/ the other missiles are d6 so I'm gonna guess necrotoxin were supposed to be d6 as well, is it a nerf? Sure ... But from what I gather the RWJF's primary roll was AT for a lot of people and secondary role was AI so necrotoxin going to D6 doesn't change it's primary roll at all it just slightly alters it's effectiveness at it's secondary roll. Which from the sounds of it people would rather use monosythe or shatterfield anyway.

It also ties itself in nicely with the remaining pieces of useless wargear, like Shredders.
So yeah, consistency.

I'm disappointed that they nerfed Necrotoxin missiles, are they now objectively inferior to Shatterfield missiles? It'll probably wound on a 3+ at most but you can reroll it and have AP -1.

I do approve of nerfing Razorspam though. Pound for pound they were easily the most broken unit in the game and I'd rather nip that in the bud ASAP rather than let it snowball and get a reputation like the Tau had last edition.

Also they still haven't addressed the Haemonculus bubble effecting Raiders and Venoms? Does that mean it works? I've been playing that it doesn't work but they seem nonchalant about answering that question.

If your abuse of the rules doesn't encourage you to buy third party models, then GW is absolutly fine with it.

I'm still chuffed at how many sales they lost to a third party manufacturer before they took this childish route of making an entire unit completely unusable.
